Hello there! How do you do?
Since finishing up at Sydney University (well, not technically... but that's another story), I have been living the life of a freelance classical musician for the past few years, enjoying a couple of stints with the national opera company - most recently performing Mozart's "The Magic Flute" for primary-school-aged kids all around Victoria, and before that I was on the road for four months with a touring production of Verdi's "La Traviata" which saw us performing in joints around Australia as diverse as Daintree, Albany, Alice Springs, Darwin, Mt Isa, Geelong and a lot of other places in between.
I suppose I am currently in a bit of a transitory phase. October 2012 saw me move into an amazing full-time job which requires that I spend about 7 months of my time in Sydney and the remainder of the year in Melbourne. This is going quite a way to thwarting my plans of getting a dog, but perhaps eventually I'll figure out a way to both work and play frisbee with fido.
Besides that, I've done a bit of travelling; the most memorable trip probably being the 3 months I spent going between Mexico and Panama and every country in between, with a brief side-step to Cuba. I love hearing about other people's travelling adventures and am constantly plotting my next adventure. Next up is most likely going to be a month in Berlin in August 2013 to observe rehearsals at the Staatsoper... We'll see!
