I am excited about the Cape now as much as I was when I first crossed the Cape Cod Canal in 1970. Nature is an ever-changing theater. Oceanside Eastham is especially compelling for long walks in fair weather or foul; by all hours and seasons, by daylight or moonlight. The Cape is a far cry from the days of Captain Penniman and Henry David Thoreau's "Cape Cod" but the alluring dynamics of yore are still intact. As an architect, I am on busman's holiday when I visit the old towns possessing original vernacular and sensitive contemporary architecture. The environment and resources of the National Seashore are unique and unlike any that I have encountered. I hope that you can enjoy it too.
