Olga's apartment is absolutely adorable in a well-kept, safe and very quiet building. Lots, lots of natural sunlight, very spacious, tastefully decorated and beautiful art all around, truly a gifted artist. Her cats are the sweetest girls around, very friendly and easy to care for. They were both quite affectionate. Brighton beach is a lively neighborhood with a lot of food choices, my favorite was Papa Leone's, food was delicious and was delivered promptly. If ever in the area, don't hesitate to book Olga's apartment. It is truly a home away from home! Thank you Olga & Zhenya.
The apartment was amazing, really well decorated with the art she made herself! It was easy to deal with the checkin and checkout, and we felt extremely welcome there. The bed and the futon were really comfortable. If I go to Brooklyn again, I would totally want to be at Olga's one more time!
It is spacious and clean. The cats are friendly and cuddly. The description of the place is good. The reason I took off some stars is because the place was really cold most of the time. The heater kicked on/off, but wasn't working properly. It was actually warm for part of the night one of the two nights that we were staying there, however even then it got really cold for a few hours. The windows are single pane, typical for New York. It is my experience that NYC apartments are generally cold (just like in London) however, it felt colder than usual in this one. This could have been because of the mess with Sandy that happened recently as the owner suggested, but I thought a warning would be fair. Ask for a space heater, if you are planning to stay during the colder months.
We spent 2days in the Olga's apartment. This is a nice place, and the cats are very friendly. We stayed very well there, maybe a little bit of clean (for example the sheet or in the restroom) are better, also considering the fact that we payed the cleaning costs.
By the way she is very helpful and very tolerant ( we had a problem during the booking process, and she waited us untill the last minute).
I had the pleasure of staying at Olga's this past saturday night when we needed accommodations closer to the start of the Tunnel to Towers run honoring those who lost their lives on 9/11. My partner and his three sons, spent the night and enjoyed our experience. The boys especially enjoyed looking at Olga's artwork (as they like to paint and draw too) as well as playing with Olga's two cats who are very friendly.
We checked in after dark and everything was just as Olga had described it - she was out of town and left a key for us. During the day the apartment is quite bright and airy, the bathroom is nice and new, and the kitchen had everything we needed.
Sunday morning we walked from Olga's to a nice pizza parlor nearby, and then to the beach for a walk along the ocean. Parking was much easier than I thought - we were able to park within two blocks.
If we are in need of lodging in the area again, we would definitely stay at Olga's
