Photographer/Artist/Gardener/Lover of Life
Bonnie is a very nice person and she keeps her house immaculate. The master bedroom is at the very front of the house, which is in a quiet and affluent Uptown neighborhood. Around the corner is a breakfast/lunch place called Riccobono's Panola Street Cafe, (7801 Panola Street, New Orleans, LA) which serves breakfast and lunch. This place is so great that it's worth staying at Bonnie's just for that.
By the by, Bonnie has amazing taste. The photos don't do it justice. Lovely old photos and wall decorations. You won't find such a charming and tasteful space short of a very expensive boutique hotel. Five stars!
Response from Bonnie:
Thank you, Benjamin! I appreciate the wonderful review!
My weekend at Bonnie's place was amazing! I took my parents to NOLA for Jazzfest and the overall experience was incredible. The neighborhood was really pretty and within close driving distance of some really great restaurants, Jazzfest, the quarter and magazine street. Close enough, but far enough away to get some real relaxation. We found ourselves on the porch drinking coffee in the mornings and after going out and about, we'd watch movies on Netflix in the living room late night. Though Bonnie was out of town during our stay, communication was great, and she left all kinds of treats and towels for our use. The place was very clean and beautifully decorated with art and wood. I would stay here again and highly recommend staying here for anyone considering.
Bonnie’s place was fantastic. I stayed at her place during Mardi Gras with 3 friends of mine and she did everything she could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We were welcomed with Beer and other stuff to snack on. The place also has a coffee machine and an ice maker. Her house is located in a very safe neighborhood and just a few blocks from Street Car that will take you to most of the places near French Quarters and Downtown. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean with enough supplies of towels. The living room is big enough and has everything one would need.
Bonnie is very friendly and she took time out of her busy schedule to show us around. There is nothing like seeing NOLA with Locals. She even took us to a costume party and for coffee/lunch a couple of times. She is a great person to hang out with and I highly recommend her place.
Bonnie is a genuine, respectable and lovely host. She made me feel welcome and was very accommodating. it was great to have two rooms - a tv room and bedroom. I am grateful to have met Bonnie.
Bonnie is a lovely host and her home in Uptown is an oasis. She has thoughtfully arranged each detail for your comfort and even with a 6 month old baby we were completely comfortable and able to function as if we were at home.
Her communication is timely yet you are not "hovered" over as she wrote in her bio - you do feel as if this is your home away from home.
friendly street and excellent cafe on Panola for any craving you seek.
highly recommended for business or pleasure.
Bonnie's home is very cozy. It is a retreat. There is a little porch in the front, a very peaceful bedroom, an awesome "living room", and a decent bathroom. There is street parking right in front.
She communicates frequently and gives thorough instruction.
The bed is comfortable and good for 1 or a very cozy 2. The livingroom couches are wide and comfortable and could accompany 2 more in a pinch. However, plan for a retreat, (email hidden)e air conditioning is good and there are ceiling fans.
I discovered during my last hours there that the tv was all hooked up to many viewing options and the stereo capability was very nice. What a great place to hang out and relax. I am not sure if there was internet access, but I suspect that it was there. I just didn't need it.
The place is sparkling clean. The bathroom is clean and bright, nothing fancy. There are a lot of bathroom accessories. It might be good to ask her what is for guests to use before poking around. There is a decent bathtub and a tall shower head, with water pressure that is not bad for an old home.
I particularly loved being able to walk to at least two awesome breakfast places. It is an easy cab ride or long walk down to Oak Street for even more dining and shopping options. There are some awesome old cemeteries nearby. It is a fairly safe neighborhood with a mix of interesting homes.
Bonnie left some wonderful drinks and treats and some fun background information on the jazz fest. There are dozens of books of all sorts.
If you are the eclectic type who needs a peaceful, comforting retreat, this is your place. But, you might be competing with me for the spot!
Bonnie's place is just great. We spent a lot of time on the front porch, and her book of ideas and instructions was really a plus. I would go back any time!
Bonnie's place was great. I felt right at home. Very private bedroom and share of the living room and bathroom. We had the place all to ourselves though since we didn't actually cross paths until we met in town for a beer at Coop's on our last day of our stay! Bonnie's place is in a nice neighborhood. It's a ten minute cab ride away from the French Quarter, so you have to plan accordingly. There's coffee in the room and a cool breakfast place right around the corner.
Uptown Getaway could not be a better description. The property is located on a very quiet but easily accessible street. Although Bonnie was not available to 'check us in" she made the process so smooth and easy. The room is the perfect size for two and all the perks in the room gave it the welcome home feel. The room was exceptionally clean and we didn't hear nor see the host most of the weekend but she managed to be very available whenever we had a question. I would definitely recommend the spot to anyone.
Bonnie was a great host and the orginal woodwork and artistic decor was welcoming. She made easy arrangements for us to pick up the key and make ourselves at home. We stayed two nights before leaving for a cruise out of New Orleans. Nice in-room guide with recommendations and directions to cool places and things to do in New Orleans. Loved the breakfast place around the corner and the proximity to the street car on St. Charles. The in-room drinks and snacks are also a nice touch.
I met Bonnie in 2007 when I took an awesome Permaculture course that she co-taught in New Orleans via Tulane University. We share a passion for gardening as well as the arts. Bonnie also rented a Mid-City apartment from me in 2009 and was an excellent tenant. She is kind, considerate and always paid rent promptly.
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of staying with my friend of over 15 years...in the room she has opened up for others to stay!! The space here on Airbnb is charming, comfortable, quiet and convenient to a wonderful city, full of memories that are waiting to be made!!
When we arrived we opened a bottle of wine and enjoyed great laughs!! If you meet Bonnie, you will soon realize that she has a great sense of humor and is so kind!! She knows the best places for music, food and entertainment in the area!!
After a couple of hours on the porch, she took me to a great, local restaurant, a wonderful venue for music and ultimately, the french quarter!!
Bonnie is a gem and her room/house is simply fantastic!!! I would encourage you all to get to New Orleans and experience it's wonderful "Joi de Vivre"...in a wonderful house, with a room that is complete with all the modern amenities and added thoughtful little extras!!!
Can't wait to go back!!!
