Welcomed with moroccan mint tea on the beautiful terrace overlooking the Rabat medina. Wonderful location with great access to local markets. Fabulous and fully equipped kitchen allowed for wonderful breakfasts on the roof. The room was beautiful and very nicely decorated.
Hanane was an excellent host, she took time to make sure we were settled in and helped us find our way around the medina. The room was clean and very traditional with a very comfortable bed which was appreciated. Also, a highlight of the stay was the breakfast (for a small extra cost), very traditional Moroccan and very tasty!!
Hanane was the most hospitable host we've ever come across - from the beginning of our communication (before arrival) right through to our departure. She was very helpful with giving clear directions on how to get to the Riad in the Medina from the bus stop, as it can be quite overwhelming and complicated on first arrival. She invited us to the final night of the festival Mawazine, which we unfortunately missed due to our time of arrival, but her helper, Selwa was very kind and made sure we were checked in comfortably.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rabat - exploring the beach, Casbah and never-ending Medina paths. Hanane recommended some great restaurants which were very reasonably priced! Rabat (like most of Morocco) has a great food culture, and there's a lot to taste and explore - you just need the time!
The Riad was beautiful, tastefully decorated and immaculately clean! We slept very well, especially since Rabat is cooler at night - we really didn't want to leave! It is located in the heart of the Medina, with an amazing market on the main 'road' just outside the Riad selling all the fresh fruit & veg your heart could desire! It's walking distance from pretty much everything you would need to get to - we didn't use any of the public transport apart from the bus to/back from the airport (Hanane helped us with the times before our flight home as well).
Top cake tip: Patisserie Majestic - deliiiicccciioooouuusss.
We couldn't recommend this place enough - we were very satisfied and grateful for all the help!
Thank you, Hanane :)
We were met in town by Abdullah who showed us how to get to the riad and showed us around. A friendly and welcoming guy.
The riad is amazing, so beautiful. Clean and exactly as in the pictures. Can't fault it.
Very nice riad at the quiet end of a busy market street in the medina of Rabat. Very clean courtyard and kitchen, which one is welcome to use. The roof terrace is especially nice, too.
We had the 'room with a tent' which was very accommodating, but the mattresses were a bit hard for us - nothing that would spoil the overall rating, though. For people who like to sleep on a firm surface, however, this may well be an incentive. :-) The wifi worked well during our 2-day-stay.
The housekeeper was very nice as well, preparing a delicious breakfast for 5 EUR/person.
We'd absolutely recommend Hanane's riad to anybody travelling to (website hidden): One note on the side - we really enjoyed relatively new Museum of Contemporary Art, which is not too far from the medina. If you're looking for sth off the beaten track - go there. :-)
Thanks a lot for visiting our place. We keep in contact.
