This is really is a little gem! The view over the old rooftops is absolutely spectacular. It is situated right in the heart of Marais on one of the most beautiful streets in Paris. The traffic is low in this area so we could sit and have breakfast and hear the blackbirds singing.
The appartment is beautifully restored with all the comforts of a modern life, including fast wifi, dishwasher and a modern and stylish bathroom with modern fittings. Please note that this is compact living so it suits two persons best.
Micheal was very helpful and was quick to reply when I had questions. Laurence, who met us at the address, gave us a great start to our stay. She really took time to showed us around in the appartment and gave good tips about Paris. Both speak excellent English.
I warmly recommend this appartment - it really made our stay in Paris special!
We highly recommend Michael's Paris apartment and plan on doing so to all of our friends and family! To us, this is Airbnb at its best. It is wonderful to have the apartment experience in beautiful Marais coupled with some details that provide the hotel experience, such as an incredibly clean space and help with whatever you need during your stay from Michael. More specifically...The apartment is a beautiful blend of old architectural details and a completely modern renovation. It is neat, clean, bright, well-situated, and was designed with a close attention to detail. We didn't want to leave! Michael is incredibly responsive and helpful. We emailed several times and each time his responses were prompt and informative. His colleague who met us at the apartment was on time and friendly. Thank you, Michael!
I stayed with my 15 year old daughter at this apartment and we had a wonderful time. We loved the view from the window and my daughter was very excited that we could see the Eiffeltower, which was a wonderful sight at night.
The room was lovely, very clean and even better than it looked on the pictures. It was great to have the lift as I'm sure the stairs would have been exhausting after so much walking. We loved the location, managed to do most of the sightseeing by walking and also hiring bikes not far from the Apartment.
It was perfect.
We would recommend this apartment for your stay in Paris.
We can't wait to recommend Michael's apartment to friends in the future- it is was truly a perfect airbnb experience. It is obvious that Michael has put a lot of work into making this space comfortable for his guests. We loved all the light that came in through the skylights in the bedroom and bathroom. We could not have asked for a better location- it was located on a beautiful street in the heart of the Marais. Laurence met us right on time to let us in and give us an overview of the apartment. She was very kind and made sure we had all the information we needed for a successful stay. We enjoyed this rental so much that we even tried to extend our stay once we got there. We can't wait to come back some day.
This is the place: a perfect central location (in the Marais and close to the Metro), a newly renovated apartment in an old building with charm and character, a comfortable bed *and* a strong hot shower. It's compact to give you a taste of how Parisians actually live, but it has everything you need. Michael designed this place so well, it's like a ship's cabin in its efficiency and storage space. Add to this good communication, an easy and thorough check-in, an elevator for luggage, and sweet touches like wine and fresh flowers ... this was a great place for a week-long stay, for a fraction of what a hotel suite costs.
This was a wonderful experience in Paris. The location, the neighborhood, the fresh flower in the apartment. Michael put lots effort to make his guests feel like home. Every details are so thoughtful. If i come to Paris again, this definitely would be my first choice. It was very nice. Thank you, Michael and of course, Laurence.
The Michael's apartment was an excellent choice. Cozy, very well located, nicely decorated, has everything you need. Michael had an appointment on our arrival and Suzanne was very friendly and welcomed us warmly. There were flowers and a bottle of wine in the apartment ... The Rue de Rosiers is one of my favorites in Paris, very close to many points of interest. We enjoyed our stay in the apartment of Michael and we highly recommend ... thank you, Michael.
I and my wife stayed at Michael's place for about 1 week. We really liked to stay this place.
* Location *
Very close from Metro ST.Paul (yellow line) which goes to almost every tourist attractions. Also this place is in the heart of the Maris district which makes us easy accessibility to go shopping, dining and exploring sweet desserts.
* Home *
Very clean, modern and functional.
Every electrical appliances are new.
most of all, it was very quite so we could get enough rest inside.
Having an elevator is a plus.
* Host *
Laurence who helped us to check-in was very kind. explained every single ones in detail and gave some useful tips for tourists.
And our host Michael was reachable whenever we need his help. He replied any question in any time which I think was very helpful. And I could see how much he cares his guests when I see the Orientation guiding book and so on.
We definitely want to stay here again when we are going to Paris again and recommend this place to other people!!
Thank you for everything Michael.
A perfect stay in Le Marais. The apartment is exactly as described in Michael's listing. It was immaculate (and I am fussy!), very clean and beautifully furnished with a lovely mix of old and very hip, modern features. The sofa bed is very comfortable and whilst compact, there is everything that you need in the kitchen area. The shower room is luxurious with endless hot water, fluffy towels and lovely touches like make up pads and tissues provided. Laurence gave us a lovely welcome and made sure we knew everything about the flat and the area. Le Marais is one of our favourite places and the location of Michael's flat couldn't be better. Amazing that it is so quiet yet right on top of the best shops, restaurants and sights. I can't imagine ever choosing to stay in a hotel again, it's so much better to live like une vrai Parisienne! Merci beaucoup, Michael.
A fantastic stay was had in this lovely apartment. It is in a great location; beautifully decorated and very comfortable…you can't ask for more, really. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.
This apartment was perfect in every way. It looks EXACTLY like it does in the photographs, with beautiful, original details, but modern finishings. It was very cold and rainy when we were in Paris, but the apartment was always warm and dry, and the rain falling on the skylights was really pleasant. The bed is large and extremely comfortable, and the sheets and duvet are soft and lovely. The bathroom is a good size, and the shower always had plenty of hot water. The towel heaters are such a cozy touch! Also note that the apartment has an elevator up to the 5th floor, and you only need to carry your suitcases up one more floor - this is such a treat in Paris! Michael was a great host, carefully explaining every detail of the apartment. He also left a great collection of architectural walking tours which I think he wrote - we loved using those during our visit. He left fresh flowers, and a delicious bottle of wine. One afternoon we stopped for bread and cheese at nearby shops, and ate that with our wine in the apartment... such a perfect experience. As for the neighborhood: We were very happy to have chosen Le Marais - it feels so quaint to stay on a tiny, cobblestone street, and it's great for window-shopping and people-watching. Try one of the falafel places nearby - and we loved a place called "Les Etages" for cocktails. The Saint Paul metro stop is a very short walk away, but many of the best sites are within walking distance, including Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, and the Musee D'Orsay. If you are debating whether to stay in an apartment (versus a hotel), absolutely do it; you get far more for your money and (I think) a much more authentic experience. If you are debating whether to stay in this apartment or another one, absolutely choose this one!
Appartement Très Joli
My husband and I just left yesterday and it was hard to pack up and leave this lovely, romantic, quaint and cool studio in the heart of the Marais. The photos posted by the owner are accurate - it is newly renovated with beautiful features - exposed beams, high end bath and kitchen appliances, clean and airy and bright. It is small but when you are in Paris who needs any more space? After spending the day sightseeing and walking about it is such a pleasant place to come home to and relax. The owner was so helpful and pleasant to deal with, explaining how everything worked and providing helpful advice for getting everything we might need while staying in Paris. The location is ideal as there are plenty of shops and markets nearby to pick up delicious bread, cheeses, charcuterie, wines, etc. to bring back for a little snack in this cosy abode. I highly recommend this place and would love to return again very soon!
