The Apartment is small (T0) but it's so well decorated and cosy that size is irrelevant.
We loved the light and the airy feeling of the Apartment, specially the 2 loft windows with a fabulous view to Paris' rooftops.
The bathroom and the kitchen are very well equiped and you can have some wonderful meals because the neighbourhood streets are full of tasty pâtisseries and gourmet food shops.
It was our 3rd time in Paris and we just loved The Marais with its narrow streets full of shops, cafes and restaurants.
Michael is a dedicated host, he gave us some useful tips and we appreciated the flowers, wine and Nespresso capsules touch.
Wonderful Apartment, top neighbourhood The Marais.
Michael was a superb welcoming host, stopping by to ensure that I knew how to use the state-of-the-art cooking appliances and then letting me stay later in the apartment on my day of departure when the next guests had a change in their arrival time. I was happy to meet him so I could thank him in person for the exquisite care and taste reflected in every detail of the apartment. It's a great pleasure (and a privilege) to spend time in one of his spaces. Full of light and air, with an easy mix of antique and modern fixtures, they seem designed to make everything both lovely to look upon and comfortable to live with. The quartier is famous for its lively commerce and delicious food. But the moment you enter the building ' s courtyard, or step into the apartment, a calm quiet greets you (and the luxurious comfort of the bed tempts you to rise late in the morning.) This is the second time I've stayed in one of Michael's beautiful, welcoming, and distinguished spaces. I expect to always want to return to this address each time I return to Paris.
Michael is a class act. His correspondence is polite, thorough, and prompt. He sets a high standard for Airbnb. His apartment is impeccable, and it made great week in Paris even better. It was a delight to return here after a day in a beautiful city. Michael is an architect, and his taste and style show in the way he has restored the apartment. It is a perfect combination of clean modern lines and French antiques. It is also practical, and all of the little things are considered (adapter, hair dryer, dishwasher, etc.)--look at the listing for more. The sofa bed (in addition to the bed in the loft) is indeed very comfortable. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay with everything you need, this is a great choice.
Thank you Michael!
Andy and I visited paris for a couple of nights and soundly be happier with the apartment and Michael as a host.
Michael was at the aparwnt to greet us on arrival and give us an introduction to the area and how things worked in the apartment.
The flat itself is situated on he too floor (you can see the Eiffel towel on a clear day), is clean and practical.
The location is great! Situated amongst restaurants, bars and boutique shops, only walking distance from the nearest metro and the sights of paris.
We will be back! Thanks again Michael.
Amazing apartment (exactly like the pictures or even better), warm and clean. As other have written before, a very nice bottle of wine was there for us and the madeleines for breaskfast are really nice. The nespresso coffee machine in the house was amazing to not go out in the morning and going around craving for coffee (which I hate more than anything). perfect location, super close to the tube station and the Marais on Sundays is one of the best things I've ever seen.
Michael was very nice and caring, and he let us leaving the luggage at the apartment until afternoon since we had a late flight.
I will definetely go back there when i'll go to paris again!
Michael was great!
He is a very communicative host who clearly takes a lot of pride in hosting. He spent 15 minutes with us showing us the apartment, telling us about the neighborhood, and answering all of our questions. He was very thorough, and it was obvious he wanted us to enjoy our stay. He even provided a delicious bottle of wine and fresh bouquet.
The apartment itself is beautiful, and in a wonderful and historic neighborhood in Paris. Michael is an architect, and being a real estate developer myself, I appreciated all of his personal touches, as well as the history of the neighborhood that he offered. The apartment also has a great deck of cards containing notable Parisian architectural sites.
I'd highly recommend Michael as a host. He is communicative, and cares about his guests and their experience. The apartment was also beautiful and full of great amenities. Everything a visitor could ask for. Bravo!
From the very start (first contact) to the very end (late check-out) everything with Michael as a host was super smooth, easy and made to match our very needs. Although I kind of like keeping insider tipps to myself ;-) I can only highly recommend Michael and of course his beautiful place in the nicest part of fashionable Marais. The apartment is spotless, with beautiful antique furniture as well as all modern appliances one could wish for. WIFi worked superb, there is a flat screen TV, a nespresso coffee maker (and even madeleines for your first bite with coffee in the morning), the bathroom is brand-new and very nice (spicy shower with great water pressure and a rain shower), a very comfortable and big bed with nice and crispy white linens up to an ironing board! - to make it short: everything is there, looks beautiful and is of high quality. But the very very very best is sleeping under the stars and looking over the Parisian rooftops. It is so romantic and I will definitely be back whenever I am in Paris! Thank you Michael!
Michael was a great host and very accomodating. He was able to arrange for an early check in for me, communicative throughout the whole process, and even left a bottle of wine for my arrival.
The location is absolutely fantastic. Located right in the middle of the Marais, which was ideal for a weekend stay as shops and restaurants in the area stay open on Sundays there. It was also very easy to get around - close to St Paul metro, easy to hail cabs, and most places very accessible by foot as well.
The apartment itself was newly renovated, tasteful and meticulously well thought out with all of the modern conveniences. The place was very clean and the bathroom and shower were spacious by Paris standards.
Only things to note were that the lift doesn't go all the way up to the apartment and loft area with the bed is very small so you couldn't really sit up in it. I ended up sleeping on the sofa which pulls out into a comfortable bed, so it wasn't a problem for me but just something to bear in mind if you're tall.
I had such a relaxing and comfortable stay and would definitely love to book this or any of Michael's other apartments for future trips. Truly an ideal AirBnB experience. Highly recommended!
we had a very good time at Michael's penthouse. at the very heart of Marais, you can reach market, metro, cafes, shopping, just in minutes. the apartment is well equipped, very clean and clever-use designed. despite of the location, it is very quiet also... hope to stay again for next time. i recommend to everyone
Michael is a brilliant and very attentive host.
This apartment was perfect in every way. It looks EXACTLY like it does in the photographs, with beautiful, original details, but modern finishings. It was very cold and rainy when we were in Paris, but the apartment was always warm and dry, and the rain falling on the skylights was really pleasant. The bed is large and extremely comfortable, and the sheets and duvet are soft and lovely. The bathroom is a good size, and the shower always had plenty of hot water. The towel heaters are such a cozy touch! Also note that the apartment has an elevator up to the 5th floor, and you only need to carry your suitcases up one more floor - this is such a treat in Paris! Michael was a great host, carefully explaining every detail of the apartment. He also left a great collection of architectural walking tours which I think he wrote - we loved using those during our visit. He left fresh flowers, and a delicious bottle of wine. One afternoon we stopped for bread and cheese at nearby shops, and ate that with our wine in the apartment... such a perfect experience. As for the neighborhood: We were very happy to have chosen Le Marais - it feels so quaint to stay on a tiny, cobblestone street, and it's great for window-shopping and people-watching. Try one of the falafel places nearby - and we loved a place called "Les Etages" for cocktails. The Saint Paul metro stop is a very short walk away, but many of the best sites are within walking distance, including Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, and the Musee D'Orsay. If you are debating whether to stay in an apartment (versus a hotel), absolutely do it; you get far more for your money and (I think) a much more authentic experience. If you are debating whether to stay in this apartment or another one, absolutely choose this one!
Appartement Très Joli
My husband and I just left yesterday and it was hard to pack up and leave this lovely, romantic, quaint and cool studio in the heart of the Marais. The photos posted by the owner are accurate - it is newly renovated with beautiful features - exposed beams, high end bath and kitchen appliances, clean and airy and bright. It is small but when you are in Paris who needs any more space? After spending the day sightseeing and walking about it is such a pleasant place to come home to and relax. The owner was so helpful and pleasant to deal with, explaining how everything worked and providing helpful advice for getting everything we might need while staying in Paris. The location is ideal as there are plenty of shops and markets nearby to pick up delicious bread, cheeses, charcuterie, wines, etc. to bring back for a little snack in this cosy abode. I highly recommend this place and would love to return again very soon!
