We were met at the Vaporetto stop by Lidia who accompanied us to the flat. We were very impressed by the funky house and it was worth carrying our cases up to the third floor for the view on the two decks above the house on the roof. This is obviously someone's home, so we felt priviledged to be among his precious things. A lovely spot to stay. Pity it rained the entire time we were there. Overall a lovely stay and we felt comfortable there.
Wonderful! We had an amazing time at your comfortable space. We felt very safe and secure there with our family of four, the girls loved the balconies and windy stair case. The views are outstanding and the apartment is very well set up. Neighbourhood is very fun and quiet and close to everything. Great groceries nearby and amazing gelato....a great choice for families. Thanks for everything. Also very comfy bed....bathroom could use a little updating, but everything else- just great!
We had a warm welcome by Lidia, who was waiting for us in the clean, big, cosy apartment. She showed us around and told us we could use anything the kitchen supplied, which was very convenient, because we preferred having our meals at home rather than eating out. There is a Billa-supermarket quite nearby, open on sundays too.
The loft had two terraces (one up upon the roof), which we would have used more if the weather had permitted this. At one side of the big living space you have a beautiful view of the garden next door and the Guidecca-canal. There is a big bed on a mezzanine and a bedroom with two (small!) bunk-beds. The bathroom is okay, but could do with a bit of renovation.
We felt very much at home and after a week's stay were reluctant to leave. The Dorsoduro sestiere is a very nice and quiet area to stay in, and so was the house. The only disturbance of our quiet nights were some annoying mosquito's, but that's Italy.
Hope to return to the loft one day!
Three adults had a most enjoyable time at this "amazing loft" in the wonderful Dorsorduro area of Venice away from the craziness of San Marco. In fact, we could sit on the roof deck and watch the monstrous cruise ships being towed in and out. It was very convenient to both the Zattere and Accademia vaporetto stops and close to lots of restaurants less frequented by tourists - including the wonderful Agli Alboretti. The apartment was quite large and worked well for us although we had the feeling the owner and his family had just stepped out of the apartment and would be back in a few minutes. This was an asset as we were surrounded by lovely objects and a kitchen stocked well beyond the basics. The place was large enough for us to be able to move things around enough to make space for our belongings. Unfortunately, it rained several days during our visit, but we were so comfortable that we even ate in a couple of nights and watched NFL on the TV. Felt quite comfortable and compensated for our missing sunset drinks on the terrace. For an historic building, the stairs were quite manageable, even the spiral to the upper terrace and the open stairs to the bedroom loft. Although we were in contact with the owner's colleague, she was not at the apartment when we arrived and offered no suggestions beyond where everything was located in the apartment - refrigerator, etc. We are very familiar with Venice and did not need much assistance beyond obtaining keys and basic instructions, but it might present a problem in the future. Definitely recommend this location for Venice. You might want to check the shipping news in advance, however, if you have an option on dates. There was a remarkable difference in crowds (even in quiet Dorsoduro) between the days when as many as five ships (2 were mega monstrosities) were in port at the same time vs. the one day (alas, our last) when only one small ship was in port. I do not know where the tipping point will be when Venice is just too crowded for independent visitors to bother any more, but it's getting there fast. At least this apartment is your best defense against the mobs.
The site of the appartment is great, the atmosphere very friendly. We appreciated especially the terrace with a beautiful view over the roofs of Venice. We were very grateful that there was a washing-machine and a generous closet for our clothes.
We had an amazing stay at Seba's. The apt was beautiful, comfortable and spacious. Our favorite place was the terrace with a magnificent view over the canal.
Fantastic flat, located in the heart of Venice. The view is just amazing!
