[Review on Bishop’s House in Velva (Liguria Italy), by Anna van Suchtelen, August 2014]
We, a Dutch family of 4, have stayed for 6 nights in Cristina Pelli’s Bishop’s House in Velva. We simply had a perfect time. Cristina had sent us beforehand a list with recommendations on trips, restaurants, walks, and things to see and do. We have done them almost all, since every advice was wonderful. Cristina welcomed us with prosecco and fresh fruits, and halfway she offered us plums from her garden. Her house is a real treat: a top view from every window, elegant furniture and the building itself is beautifully antique. Outdoor, there is a terrace in an olive orchard, just a little walk from the house. Cristina told us that she and her husband plan to make a balcony for the top floor of their house (the part that is rented): this new balcony would make the place simply perfect. We surely plan to come back, for the house, the very special hamlet Velva in which the house is embedded, for Cristina’s kind and friendly hospitality, and for the highly interesting region: the sea, Cinque Terre, Portofino and surroundings, the food, etc. etc. Highly recommended!
