The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Set in a beautiful area close to lots of lovely walks. Jeff was very friendly and helpful and overall a great host, accomodating a last minute extra guest and our two dogs. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it.
Jeff's place in Parkend is perfect, and Jeff is a great host. The barn is a perfect size for two adults and two 2 year olds. The second bedroom can easily fit two travel cots, and the master bedroom is nice and spacious. The living areas downstairs are perfect with a nice lounge come diner with a table which could seat 8. A perfect peaceful spot for enjoying the Forest of Dean. Tips: the local campsite (5 mins walk) has a great childrens playground. The fountain pub has a child friendly garden. For excursions head to puzzle wood, treetops railway and treehouses, and the sculpture trail at beachenhurst. The speech house near beachenhurst does great lunches.
Jeff was very welcoming and the cottage was a good size and in a good central position to explore the Forest of Dean.
I was a little disappointed that the basic essentials weren't there ie washing up liquid and only a small amount of toilet tissue and the double bed was a bit 'lumpy' The cottage is also close to a timber yard and the fork lift truck starts up quite early. But all that said I would recommend it
The area was great, easy access to a shop selling most items of food. Two pubs close by for meals and drinks. The barn was spacious and had everything we could wish for. Little things like salt and pepper, coffee and tea and washing up liquid were there. So handy when you travel from overseas.
We liked the local area for walks into the forest which were wonderful. The serenity of the area and the friendliness of the local people made us feel very much at home.
Excellent location to explore forest of dean. Very nice house. Spacious and clean. Lots of leaflets about attractions in the area. Comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed our stay
Stayed for a long weekend over the bank holiday. Great location for cycling, walking, village life and roaming sheep. Comfortable accommodation. Property ideal for 2-4 people.
We had three fantastic days . Jeff a perfect host . Accommodation spotlessly clean and really well equipped . Perfectly located close to all sights . Great pub round the corner . Weather perfect . Our only regret is we couldn't have stayed longer . A perfect stress relieving break . Would def recommend and stay again . Many thanks !!
Jeff's cottage is absolutely perfect! It's a sizeable space and has been beautifully converted, and comes fully kitted out with all the mod cons. It's also in a great spot for exploring the Forest. Highly recommended.
We had a very comfortable stay at Jeff's converted barn. He was very communicative and easy going. The cottage is fully equipped and accommodated 5 of us very comfortably when the sofa bed was deployed! Log fire made it extra cosy. The cottage was in a great location, close to many walks including the sculpture trail.
Super cottage right on the edge of the forest! This is a cyclist and walkers delight with such easy access into miles of trails and walks.
The accommodation is very comfortable and the fireplace adds to the coziness of the place. Jeff was very helpful and communicative.
