Rebecca's little dog friendly villa is a dream! I can't wait to return during the cooler months so I can use the fireplace! Tucked away in a tree filled corner of her yard, the villa overlooks her vineyard and is surrounded by birds and butterflies. It really could have been somewhere in Italy! it's conveniently close to the adorable town of St. Helena with all of its restaurants and tasting rooms. Rebecca is gracious and warm, she has lived in the area since the 80's and couldn't be more hospitable. The kitchen is an efficiency but has a toaster, little fridge, etc., and was thoughtfully and generously filled with fresh bread, milk, orange juice and a bowl of fruit. This trip I was really just looking for a rest so my dog and I took long walks and enjoyed the scenery. The yard is not fenced but it's on a quiet road with few neighbors. One of Rebecca's neighbors shares their little pond with swimming dogs! The one bad note of the weekend was a very aggressive loose dog of her neighbor, it attacked my dog on our morning walk. Dog owners please ask her for details on this dog before you head out on walking adventures. Enjoy this little gem, only an hour from SF!
We loved the Villa and Rebecca. The location was not far off the beaten path and was well worth the drive. The villa was well appointed and the grounds were beautiful. We were even more delighted by the amazing breakfast treats baked by Rebecca. Great vacation spot and we look forward to staying again soon;) Oh yeh and Pride Winery is just a stones throw away!
The Villa at Mille Vigne is simply the most perfect, romantic, private getaway! There is a large front deck where you can enjoy the crisp mountain air and smell of the tall pines, and the vineyard view... WOW. We were blown away. The sun filters in for a sunrise wake up. Total peace and relaxation. This place really has it all. Rebecca is an amazing hostess, and she went the extra mile to make a surprise weekend all the more special for us, coordinating things ahead of time. She had the lights on for us for the late check in, and yes, it's nearly to the end of the windy road, so keep on driving... it's up there! Be sure to explore the many Spring Mountain Vineyards, which are by appointment... Rebecca will hook you up! We literally walked to Pride, which has amazing views and a very informative cave tour with tasting (only $10/pp!). My only wish was that we had extended the trip. It's not a matter of if we'd book again, it's when!
