We wanted to support a young family's travel plans so we made concessions to accommodate Olivier and his two young children at no additional charge. We typically would charge double for the exclusive use of the flat. However, since Chris was traveling, I also offered the family the use of the entire apartment to give them privacy plus use of our reserved parking space at no additional fee. We have never done this for our single room guests, but due to their family situation, we felt that it would be kind to extend this courtesy. As we had guests check out on the same day, we only had several hours to tidy up the apartment - during which I made up the bed and vacuumed the guest bedroom, set up an air mattress in the living room for dad, and tidied up the balance of the apartment as best as possible. The floors and carpet have some discoloration which was addressed in our posting. I waited outside our building for over an hour to help the guests unload luggage and park the car. I did such since they did not have international mobile service and we did not want them feel stressed with finding the apartment after their flight delay. We are surprised and disheartened that Olivier and his family did not have a pleasant stay unlike our other guests.
