Originally from Wisconsin, I have lived in Arizona for over 20 years. I have also lived two years in New Zealand teaching at the University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic. My interests include health care (direct patient care, research and policy), bicycling, good lounge jazz, creative cooking at home and enjoyed in restaurants, travel, scuba diving, hiking, dancing, barbeque with friends, gardening, exploring the world with nieces and nephews, reading a good book outdoors in the shade, reading poems from friends, catching up with friends and family through Facebook and other social media, Skype calls to friends abroad,
In my spare time I try to engage in outdoor adventures, photography, spend time in the garden, and dialogue with friends and family. Bonus in life is getting a chance to experience something new with friends and family. Fun fact about me: I energetically embrace all adventures of life….. some just happen to be more fun than others. I enjoy entertaining whether a dinner or pool party or guests from another state or country. Life is too short not to enjoy great food, great space, and great conversation with amazing people of walks of life.
Love abstract to fine art of all forms. Music is the fabric of life and I enjoy all forms of musical expression… except songs that rant on about violence, depression, and egotistical self-absorption (happy for you if these are your joys). Hypnotized by the smell of fresh cut grass and the wet earth after a rain shower. In awe of a new day when awaken to a chorus of birds of that region of the world. Warmed by a random smile.
I have enjoyed my career in health care and currently working as a nurse practitioner and genomics researcher in the area of asthma.
