I have been a Mother City resident for the last four years. I was born in South Africa but have travelled widely for work and pleasure. I love being on the road, some call it the tumbleweed in me. I own this flat and it was my first attempt to create a root in the only place the world over I really consider home. I think Cape Town is the most beautiful city in the world and I am often reminded of its sheer beauty and diversity. I teach at the University of Cape Town (UCT). When not teaching or doing research, I can be found with my head in a book in some outdoor space. I am a keen cyclist and am one of the growing number that no longer own cars in Cape Town but commute by bicycle. I love growing things and have a fantastic herb and vegetable garden, micro greens, a selection of chillies, a venus flytrap, a nepenthe and an indoor lime tree called Rupert.
