We are a couple in our 60s, with chickens in the side yard and a wood burning oven in the backyard. We love to cook, eat and entertain, and then work out to stay fit. Music, theater, books, grandchild. That's what life is all about!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Jeremy could not have been a more gracious host. Spotless and tasteful, quiet and charming. Just as described but even better.
You will not be disappointed when you book this studio! It is just as lovely in person as it is in the pictures. I stayed for a month and I thoroughly enjoyed the studio, the garden, and the neighborhood. Everything you need is in walking distance. It was also a pleasure to get to know the hosts, who are wonderful people that go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay! Thank you, Jeremy and Rachel! :)
This was a charming cottage in a great location near Rockridge. It's private and secure with a separate gated entry to a beautiful courtyard. The hosts are very gracious and I loved my stay. I would always stay here when in the Bay area.
We had a lovely experience staying in Jeremy's studio with our three-month-old baby. The space, charming and thoughtfully designed, has everything one could possibly need. After going to the Temescal Farmers' Market (a must!), we made gourmet meals in the little kitchen and enjoyed the outdoor space, beautiful garden, and fantastic weather. The neighborhood is darling, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat!
I've been in Jeremy's Studio in Rockridge for 6 weeks. It's a really nice place, well organise, and I spent a really good time there. Jeremy and Rachel, are really good host, always there when i needed something!!! definitly a place to stay. The neighbourhood is very pleasant, and there is also plenty of lovely shops and restaurants!!!
Jeremy and Rachel's cottage is CA perfection! Both my husband and I along with our 9 month old stayed here for a month while transferring and house hunting in the area. The location is better than any hotel if you're wanting to experience Rockridge and all of the amazing restaurants and shops along College. You literally turn left when exiting the driveway (passing their lovely chicken coop) and walk down a couple of blocks to reach College. For dinner (breakfast on the weekends as well...sweetest little diner at the end of the road) we would push our daughter in her stroller and during the day I would put her in her carrier on me and we would walk to pick-up coffee, shop at the many markets or have lunch. If you choose to dine in, the kitchen lends itself to heating small meals. Provided is a toaster oven, refrigerator, small cooking top, ample amounts of dishes and cooking utensils. The French press and kettle were helpful as well. When arriving we were welcomed by fresh lemons, no doubt from one of their many citrus trees, and yummy fig jam!
The entrance is separate with a shared courtyard as pictured. The structure has been redone in great taste. Keep in mind it does get a bit hot during the day. To solve this they'll provide a fan if needed and opening the windows helps during the day...the mornings and evenings feel amazing with the windows open allowing the breeze in. This set-up is perfect for a single or a couple with infant (our daughter slept in her pack-n-play and bathed in her blowup ducky bathtub) but wouldn't suggest it for a family with active small child. It is a studio set-up within close vicinity to the main house and neighbors so you wouldn't want to create too much noise.
It really is a great choice for Berkeley accommodations. If ever there is a time in the future friends or family need a place to stay we're excited about the prospect of sending them Rachel and Jeremy's way.
Awesome place! The studio was convenient to the BART and great restaurants in Berkeley and Oakland. Jeremy went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.
My mom came to visit for Thanksgiving. Our house is small so we always look for something on airbnb in our neighborhood to make up for our lack of a guest room. Jeremy's was perfect! Quiet street only two blocks from College Ave. The outdoor space is lovely for coffee in the morning or afternoon tea. My mom felt very comfortable in the clean and simple space. The heat was on when she arrived late at night which was much appreciated to take the chill off the cold air outside. Sometimes it's the simple things that make the biggest difference. Thanks Jeremy!
These accommodations could not have been more perfect for my husband and myself! It is a separate studio, complete with all necessities, to a tee. Close to the Rockridge BART and walking distance to all the shops and restaurants, on College Ave., made it a perfect location. Not far from UC Berkeley. Rachel and Jeremy could not have been more gracious. Lovely individuals, standing by, in case we needed anything…but, we never did. All was complete…including a lovely outdoor patio area, for a late afternoon glass of wine and some chat. Would highly recommend this lovely place!
Very nice place in a good location.
A delightful couple and a pleasure to meet them.
I hope that they get good weather during their tour of the North West .
Jeremy's apartment studio is a very comfortable place to stay within the Oakland-Rockridge-Berkeley area. It has been recently renovated and while being compact, it is well thought to accommodate the needs of one or two persons, featuring a modern shower bath and kitchenette, a plasma TV with cable, internet and more than enough furniture to feel more at a home rather than in a hotel setting. The apartment opens to a really nice interior garden that features an artisanal wood oven and a layout that somehow transports you to the Mediterranean. It also has an independent entrance, making it more private than other places of its kind.
These ammenities make it a good place to rest, while being only three blocks away from College Avenue, which features various cafes, restaurants, boutiques and small supermarkets. It is also close to the Rockridge Bart (about 8 blocks) and several streets with public transportation, thus commuting to SFO, UC-Berkeley or other parts of the east bay area is easy and convenient. This is a place we would highly recommend for a relaxed stay in the Oakland/Berkeley area. Additionally, Jeremy and Rachel were truly nice and welcoming and even helped us out with crucial information and contacts. We stayed there for three weeks while looking for a more permanent location in Berkeley and were really sad to have to leave!
