I am an American expat currently residing in London, England with my husband, Peter, and our German Shorthaired Pointer, Dexter. Prior to my current life as a stay-at-home-doggie-mom and wife, I worked in the fast paced (and stressful) world of software development as a business analyst, technical writer, and quality assurance tester. The most recent company I worked for was a start-up company which developed pharmacy dispensing machine software for nursing homes. Our goal was to revolutionize the way nursing home staff administers medication to residents by creating easy-to-use software to reduce medication errors and medication costs.
One brisk day in October 2010, a job opportunity with (website hidden) presented itself to my husband via his (website hidden) messages. After a lot consideration and too many sleepless nights, we decided to sell our house in Dallas, Texas and make the move across the pond to London.
Our goal is to travel and see as much of Europe as humanly possible during our next few years living abroad. The past two years have been stressful, however, we have gained an incredible amount of knowledge about different cultures and have been able to do and see things we never would have, had we forwent the opportunity to move abroad. While the move has been a test of, well, everything, we don't regret it one bit!
