I enjoyed staying at Steve's place. The neighborhood is safe and quiet and the subway is only a short walk (10 minutes). It will take you to Manhattan in less than 30 minutes. Prospect Park is nearby.
Steve is a friendly guy and very easy to talk to. He invited me to a BBQ in the back garden, which was really nice. The room is large and has a television with DVD-player, as well as a small fridge where you can store your own food and drinks.
I liked the laid-back atmosphere in the house and felt completely at ease from the moment I arrived. And I became good friends with Sparky the dog, too. I can definitely recommend this AirBnB!
Had a wonderful time at Steves' place! Steve is a great host with a fine house in a nice quiet area. Best part of the place is the garden with sun all day. It is a great place to relax and a big contrast to the tempo of NY and we spent every morning there eating breakfast and enjoying the sun. We highly recommend it.
I stayed at Steve's place for a month and really enjoyed it. The room was nice, clean and bright and looks out onto the garden.
Steve is a really friendly, helpful host and made me feel welcome. And he has a super cute little dog!
The area is quiet, which I liked. Prospect Park is less than 5 minutes walk away and there are some decent deli's and cafes close by too. Subway connections are good with the F train (to Manhattan) and G train (to Williamsburg) about 5-10 mins walking distance.
I was pretty satisfied with the apartment as I stayed with friends over New Years. I had no issues checking in or out and the room was as described.
What brought my experience down was the presence of several gnats, especially in the kitchen and bathroom. I get the occasional one at home myself, but this was not very relaxing or comfortable for me.
We were very satisfied with the apartment.
Booked Steve's room for my mother so she would have her own space over Thanksgiving weekend. It worked out great! She was happy and comfortable.
Steve was an awesome host. We arrived very late and he warmly welcomed us into his home with leftover dinner and drinks! The room was very comfortable and private. Steve was very helpful during our stay - even gave us directions via phone when we were trying to find our way back to his place one night. Great stay - would definitely stay with him again next time we're in NYC!
this is a homey place, with a garden in very low-key neighborhood. the neighborhood has a great Japanese restaurant that delivers, plus a good deli and pizza place nearby on Caton Ave, i enjoyed my stay at Steve's very much. he provides a few menus for all renters and offers a lot of helpful advice combined with ultra privacy; also, the room includes a small fridge stocked with water and a few adult beverages. the location is close to the "F" train at Fort Hamilton Parkway, or you can walk further for the "Q" at Church Avenue. i lived in Manhattan ten years, so know the city very well and for the price, Steve's is a great deal. plus, he has the cutest little dog! usually, the dog stays in the front of the apartment, but if you want, he can hang with you while you chill in the large bedroom. Steve responded very quickly to my inquiry after another host cancelled on me. very grateful for that, and think he makes an honest and dependable host. give him a try!
We had a great time at Steve's place. He was a great host and the room was clean and comfortable. He has a small backyard full of fresh fruits and vegetables. The place is also very close to the Fort Hamilton Parkway "F" train station. Just takes a few minutes by walking.
I would definetly recommend his place...
My time with Steve was very enjoyable. He was a great host, very friendly and I also got to have some privacy, which is important for me. The highlight is the patio, where I spent a lot of time surrounded by Steve's garden plants. Steve also lives with an adorable dog, which I'm perfectly ok with, but might be an issue for others. Everything was clean, the bed has a good mattress and I also got to use the kitchen all the time. Keep in mind that there's not much action in this neighborhood, but the commute to Manhattan or Williamsburg is quite acceptable.
