I booked Helga's gorgeous penthouse last minute. She was extremely accommodating and eager to help. Quite friendly and made me feel welcome from our first contact. She even provided information on how to book a shuttle to the airport.
The apartment is incredible. Perfectly equipped with everything you need and right in the middle of all of the action downtown.
My only regret is that I couldnt spend more than one night. I would absolutely book again.
Apartments is really good. In the center of the life and quiet same time. Thermal bath after heavy day is amazing! Helga reacts quickly, answers all questions, flexible when it needs.
We had a great time in Iceland! We were warmly greeted by our host and shown around the apartment making sure we were comfortable and oriented.
The apartment itself is right in the centre of town, so very convenient for shopping, restaurants and bars, and easily accessible from the bus station.
The hot tub was great!!! So relaxing!
This is a comfortable, spacious apartment in a fantastic location. Helga and Snorri are wonderful hosts and go the extra mile to make guests comfortable, including taking a few hours out of their time to give us a personal driving tour through Reykjavik. I give this five stars without reservation in every category: location, spaciousness, cleanliness, provisions, responsiveness of hosts. Not to mention that Reykjavik is a great tourist destination.
Helga was a great host and the apartment was just as described. Our flight was a red-eye, and we got into Reykjavik (it's about an hour's bus ride from the airport) at about 6:30am. Helga emailed the day before to get our flight number and was waiting at the apartment to let us in - she then showed us how everything worked, wifi, dishwasher, hot tub, etc. - and also left us maps and newspapers and recommended an AWESOME bakery just down the block (where we went every morning). The apartment is smack-dab in the center of the shopping district and is easy walking distance to all the fun things you could want to do in Reykjavik, and to both bus terminals. The only problem right now is that there's construction next door, so if you're planning to sleep during the day (as we did, the morning when we got in), it might be difficult!
By the time we arrived in Reykjavik, it was 2:00 and Helga was outside the apartment waiting for us. She showed us around the apartment, gave us the ever important wifi information, and a great recommendation to eat brunch, SNAPS, which was wonderful! We highly recommend this apartment. It was a great apartment in the perfect location! Close to cafes, restaurants, bars, local attractions.
The apartment is very centrally located but on a quiet street. Everything was as expected from the web site and Helga met us to provide the keys, show us the apartment and answer any questions at the time we had agreed. We enjoyed our stay and found it much cheaper to be able to eat in sometimes as restaurants in Iceland are quite expensive.
Helga was very helpful with getting us oriented and even helped us with the process of returning our rental car, making calls for us. The apartment is just as pictured and very nice! Our only complaint was that, as lovely as the skylight is, it did make it very hard to sleep. Definitely need an eyemask.
The location is really right on the main drag of Laugavegur which is very convenient but also rather loud on the weekend nights. Nothing we weren't expecting and no fault of Helga's, but it is something to keep in mind if you're a light sleeper.
Overall, it was a great apartment and Helga was a great host.
The property was just as described. It is located in a great part of town close to many great restaurants and attractions
