I'm from New Orleans, LA. I am a school social worker in a PK-8 charter school. I like to be outside, listen to live music, go to the beach, and try new things. I also love to cook large meals with friends.

The best thing about this place is the location! Close to restaurants, coffee shops and more on Magazine Street, a nice stroll to the Garden District and an easy, 30-ish minute walk to the French Quarter. It was also really great to be close to St. Charles for the Mardi Gras parades! We didn't see much of the housemates but all were kind and friendly and the dog is very sweet. The backyard was definitely a bonus for soaking in the sun!
Annie was a great host. She responded right away to my inquiry and allowed us to book at the last minute, even though she was traveling and getting back into town fairly late. There was a great guide book with lots of information about local shops, restaurants, etc. in the room, which was very helpful, and everything was clean and lovely.
Her housemate Meghan was also super friendly and helpful, and the house dog, Porter, was sweet. The house is in a very convenient location- we used bicycles to get around and loved it! The streetcar was also very close by. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!
This room was beautiful and clean, and Annie, while I didn't get to meet her in person, was very much reachable and left easy instructions. Her housemate Meghan was around and super helpful too. This is a good location for walking up to Magazine St and around this neighborhood of beautiful old houses. If you are looking for parade action around Mardi Gras, this is located inside most of the parade routes and it is easy to walk up a few blocks to catch it all. The only possible downside (or upside) is trying to get in or out of this parade zone during a heavy parade day....it is do-able for sure, but be prepared to potentially walk a bit as traffic and closed streets can make vehicular navigation in and out of this area difficult during parades.
Annie and her housemates are very welcoming, and their place is a great spot from which to check out New Orleans. I was visiting over MLK day and Annie invited me to a really cool street art exhibit—definitely an example of a great Airbnb experience. Everything was clean and well-cared for, and Porter (the house dog) is very sweet.
I spent a week at Annie's place for a work conference and it was the best place to be. The apartment is wonderful, and the roommates (Annie, Meg, and Jeff, as well as Porter) were extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful with my visit. Their knowledge of the city and invitations to join them for friends birthday parties, dinners, scrabble, local music, and local music events (New Orleans Marching Band Battles) ware amazing and my week spent there was one that i will never forget, and i hope to one day return and learn more about the city. Thanks once again for an amazing time and for bringing me into your house, and making me feel at home with everything.
We had an excellent stay in Annie's home! It was a great location- close to the picturesque streets of the Garden District and the shops/restaurants on Magazine St. in one direction, and the French Quarter in the opposite direction. While we mostly walked (lots of steps!), it was also nice to have access to the streetcar a few blocks away.
Annie's home is a very comfortable and clean, renovated shotgun home- loved the decor and backyard space. Really enjoyed staying in a "locals" neighborhood as opposed to a more "touristy" hotel/area. To help her guests navigate the area, Annie left a really great guide that included a lot of local spots to check out- so much great food, shopping, and drinking.
While I didn't personally meet Annie, all of my correspondence with her was quick and pleasant, and her roommate was super nice and welcoming!
I highly recommend their place for your visit!
We had a great time. The place was great-we enjoyed Porter. The roommates were really nice, as was the neighbor Terry. Good location and the local bars were pretty fun and convenient.
Great hosts, spacious room. Annie was extremely accommodating and left some great tips for navigating the city.
We had a lovely time staying w/ Annie and her roommates in the Garden District. The house is cozy and adorable and we enjoyed exploring the shops on nearby Magazine street and biking to the cemetery. Everyone in the house was friendly and offered great insight into the neighborhood, but we also felt we had plenty of privacy. Having bikes on-hand to rent really completed the experience! It was a great time.
Annie was there to greet myself and my friend the night we arrived which was good since we accidentally were knocking on the wrong door. She let us use here straightener and blow dryer. We watched a cooking competition one night, but mostly we were like ships passing in the night. The description is accurate, the bed is comfortable, the room however gets mighty toasty at night and the curtain for the window is sheer, should be a little thicker.
It was wonderful having Annie stay here over New Year's. She is the perfect guest: clean, friendly and polite and she has a lovely calm energy. We would recommend Annie to all hosts.
