Ciao, sono Paola, abito a Milano. Sarei più che contenta di ospitarvi nel mio appartamento milanese. A presto, spero!
We really enjoyed our stay in Paola's apartment. It was very well suited for our family (three young kids including a baby) and had all the facilities we needed. The location is perfect, just of the boulevard with shops, restaurants and beach nearby. We didn't use the swimming pool (too cold in february...), but it looked nice. In short, we had a perfect holiday on Lanzarote, and I would fully recommend this apartment to other travellers, with or without children.
We booked a last minute winter break, arriving by car. The apartment is as it appears in the photographs. New, clean, fresh and bright. We had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. There was a little confusion finding Daniele when we arrived - I ended up going out on the road and phoning him. I was standing right by him. Apparently he was waiting for a taxi to arrive. He doesn't speak English and we don't speak Spanish ( which I consider our own fault ). However, it would have been handy to know what he looks like...Also, when we left (at 5am ) I was concerned about what to do with the key. Some instructions would have been nice, as it was I had no need to worry.
Because it was January the pool was freezing. My grown up children tried for a few milliseconds each ( the second wondered why we were videoing her reaction). However, it was nice sunbathing round the pool in the afternoon when the sun shone. Most of the time we spent exploring the island. A hire car made this very easy. The roads were good with not too much traffic and we got around quite happily with a basic tourist map. We arrived out of the blue , with no preconceptions and very little knowledge of the island and were pleasantly surprised. There is plenty to do for at least a week, even in the winter, particularly if you are interested in volcanic landscape as I am. I also got seriously into the work of Cesar Manrique, who in my opinion is a true hero. Examples of his work pop up all around the island - it seemed that every time we saw something cool or something more than I would expect, it was some of his work. We did everything except visit the actual museum which houses his art work. We will have to come back. Because it was winter we didn't spend anytime on the beach. There are some very touristy villages, but we could see other less commercialised places to explore. You could explore by going on bus tours, but you would have to be seriously organised and wouldn't be able to see so much. It was very handy to be able to walk out of the apartment and have a vast choice of places to eat and drink, but hard to find anywhere serving the local cuisine. I still don't really know what that is - apart from the salty little catalan potatoes, with special sauce which are delicious ( if you like potaotes ). It was not very busy whilst we were here - lots of customers of a certain age. My student daughter found it hard to find anybody to talk to e.g. only one other girl in the nightclub on a Friday night...It certainly wasn't rowdy . All in all . Good value for money and a very enjoyable holiday.
Goed onderhouden accommodatie met dito interieur. Badkamer niet helemaal up to date. Schimmel aangetroffen in douche cabine. Appartement ligt zeer dichtbij boulevard. Zwembad ligt s middags in schaduw.
Great, small, clean, and comfortable flat, central location, we enjoyed our stay and explored Lanzarote by car. Complex well maintained, overall we had nice experience, and would recommend.
We needed a last minute family get away - somewhere we could have a pool on our doorstep and a beach at the bottom of the road. Paola's apartment was exactly that. Puerto del Carmen is a bit touristy (picture tourist shops and english/irish bars, not a cultural center) but it's a very practical place to go on holiday. Everything is flat and in walking distance. We rented push bikes and a little trailer for our kids to go in. There is a cycle path that runs all the way to from the apartment along by Playa Grande to the old harbour, which is a lovely little ride. The nearest beach is literally at the bottom of the road (less than 5 minutes walk), which turned out to be our favourite.
My family is already talking about going again and we've only been back 24 hours.
Paola can provide baby stuff (cot, changing mat, baby bath etc) if you need it.
Good apartment - a short tram ride or pleasant stroll to Duomo, the accommodation was clean and well-thought-out. We had a bit of trouble with the hot water but not enough to spoil a great stay in Milan. Thanks Paola!
The reservation was canceled 11 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The accommodation is well located but a little on the small side! It is in a secure and quiet complex with a modern lift to the second floor. Close to the Duomo, shopping district and Basilica of Sant 'Ambrogio (of special interest to us for its wonderful mosaics). A serviceable option in a wonderful city!!!
Very nice, quiet and clean apartment !
We were a little bit surprised on sunday morning to be asked insistently to leave the apartment at 10.30 am. But beside that perfect location to visit the centre of Milano!
A great, spacious apartment with air conditioning in Viale Isonzo, Milan. We stayed there in the middle of the summer for a few nights with our one year old boy- he had a great time crawling around and slept well as it's so quiet and cool. It's within walking distance of the Duomo and the canal and is surrounded by good shops if you are self-catering and restaurants if not. It's close to the metro too, so easy to get to the airport, and there are trams and buses right outside if you are too lazy or too much of a hurry to walk. Paola and her family are great hosts. They met us at the apartment to help us settle in, and they are on hand if you need their help. Highly recommended!
I've been knowing Paola since 5 years and I can assure you she is a great host. She's very helpful and really smart. She has a lot of experience in travelling so no matter where you are from you won't complain!
What started out as a random booking for a few nights in Milan turned out to be so much more when I met Paola. My mother and I planned to visit Milan to attend an opera at La Scala. We were so lucky to have found Paola's lovely apartment, but even luckier to have found Paola! She was so warm and inviting, and we felt very privileged to have been able to spend some time with her and her lovely husband in a social setting. She is a very talented artist, a top notch pasta maker, and someone I hope will remain a friend for years to come. I can't recommend her highly enough -- you'd be in good hands with Paola!
