Mark from Budapest - an urban cowboy who lived in London, travelled around the Globe and will be happy to make your stay perfect with local insider tips.
I can only recommand Marks flat. This is not only a very nice place to stay: Mark is a perfect host also!
This was my third stay with Mark in his Rose street apartment. Although he is a busy man he somehow always manages to make you feel welcome and home - his lust for life really rubs off.
The apartment has everything you would need. If not Mark will get it for you if it is not too unreasonable request.
Mark and his girlfriend were very warm and helpful. I love the apartment and the beautiful ivy-covered courtyard it faces. I highly recommend staying there!
The flat is pretty central - I like to walk so I didn't need to buy any bus tickets for a week; Vaci Utca is @ around 20 mins walk. Btw, there are quite a few stairs to climb to the apartment, but you'll get used to them by day 2.
The flat in a quiet area, next to a beautiful boulevard, museums, the Opera, restaurants (you need to ask Mark to give you a few tips on restaurants, they're priceless!) stores and... free parking places! :) I cooked in the small but well furbished kitchen, I talked to the neighbors, I slept until mid-afternoon, I went out and returned home alone @ 2 am without any issues. Mark spent some time with me when I arrive, explaining what I can see in Budapest, which restaurants and thermal baths to go to, and which wine to buy as a gift for my friends at home. All was great, highly recommended!
I felt just on the right place in Mark's apartment. On walking distance from a lot of must see places, I felt at home and highly enjoyed the history you feel everywhere around you. This will be my first option for sure next time I visit the city!
I stayed a second time in Mark's flat. I guess that says it all :D
This time I experienced the spring and what a wonderful place. A beautiful wall of green from every window of the flat, brightens your day.
As if it wasn't enough, Mark came by with flowers to add a splash of colors.
Mark's apartment is a small gem in the middle of Budapest. Mark's kind and cheerful personality has really rubbed off on the place, making it really easy to feel a sense of home. That feeling IKEA tries to duplicate, but never just get right - this is the real thing.
I've stayed in this apartment for 2-3 months, and I never had any problems, with water, electricity, heat or anything. The Internet is stable and fast.
You practically don't need to bring anything but your clothes. Mark has been kind to provide or help me find whatever else I've needed.
Had an amazing time in Mark's apartment. He was very welcoming and helpful in sharing all the necessary info about Budapest. Would definitely go and stay at his place again.
We had a great time in Mark's flat. The location is very central (just of the andrassy/ 5mins from the octogon) and you can easily get around on the metro or tram. Trams 4 and 6 run all night. Mark is a wonderful host, all the advice and tips he gave us made our trip to budapest go smoothly. Would definitely like to return and would recommend without hesitation.
Mark was great. My stay in Budapest was definitely enhanced by his vast knowledge of the city and his generosity. I would like to return to Budapest and will try to stay with him again. He even found the swing dancing community for me.
