I was born and raised in the U.S., but I so dearly love Europe and hope to capitalize on opportunities to visit, study, and work there. After a school trip to Shanghai, China, I am particularly eager to expand my horizons to Southeast Asia as well.
When I'm not planning my next dream trip to far flung corners of the earth, I enjoy practicing hot yoga, reading, dancing, and cooking.
One of my proudest achievements in travel was the night my best friend and I ventured out to a trattoria tucked deep in the narrow lanes of Trastevere in Rome. Three days into our vacation and with the help of my trusty Lonely Planet phrasebook, I picked up enough Italian to ask for a table and order an entire meal en Italiano. We thought that perhaps the waiter didn't speak English, as he only responded in Italian back to me. Imagine my surprise when he moved on to another table of Americans and spoke English fluently to them! I like to think that my effort to go native is why we were under-charged for a few menu items that evening. :)
