Beautiful home for the price! Definitely would stay again. Just make sure you're driving up in the daytime!
This home is perfect if you're looking to get away from the city for a day or two. Great view, awesome fire pit, cozy hammock... what more could you ask for? We went on a short hike, cooked a meal, listened to Greg's record collection--all in all a very relaxing time.
The house was clean and comfortable. Greg was also very accommodating and available for questions at any time. He made sure we felt at home the whole time we were there.
We had a great stay at Greg's place, tho much too short! The view and the deck and the property are lovely, the house is large and well laid out. We loved having their dog visit us and romp with ours. Though he did make himself comfortable in the house when the door was open, if you don't want that to happen you'd need to keep the doors closed.
Fantastic place. House was even nicer than the photos look, very private and pretty remote. That was exactly what we were looking for, although if you want to explore the area know that the place is a ~25 minute drive up the mountain on a small road.
Greg was a great host and the house was a real treat. Nestled high up in the mountains, you'll be amazed by the view from the deck out to the ocean and across to Monterey (the pictures don't do it justice) - all the while being surrounded by beautiful redwoods. We spent the nights stargazing and the mornings basking in the sun on the wrap-around porch. The inside was extremely cozy and the kitchen was perfect for cooking a big meal.
However Greg and his roommate found this magical place, they're currently earning an A+ in life and it was rad for my friends and I to share in a little piece of it. Will definitely return.
The house was awesome! It was the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. Everyone wished we could have stayed longer. Greg was super helpful and made everything a breeze. His directions to the house were easy to follow and everything was setup nicely for our arrival. We would definitely come back!
The host and the house was wonderful. If you are looking for a truly remote but want beautiful accommodations this is the spot. The place has a great vibe and great set up with a nice gourmet kitchen, huge dining room and living room with a fireplace. The downstairs level are where the bedrooms are and each one comes with its own bathroom. Also a great set up for kids. We were only able to stay there one night as there was a freak wind storm which knocked out the power which also lead to no running water. Greg did right by us and we are definitely going to come back just a weird turn of events. I highly recommend this accommodation.
Seven of us (and our two well-behaved pups) stayed here for three nights and had a great time. The day of our trip, Gregory emailed us some information about our stay and detailed directions (the house is quite a ways up windy mountain roads). Definitely take his advice and drive up in daylight--we all went up after dark the first night and the drive was much more difficult without light!
When we arrived, we found everything just as Gregory had described. The kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, and utensils in the kitchen so we were able to cook all of our meals. The open kitchen/dining room/living room makes the perfect hang out spot. The bedrooms are cozy with comfortable futons and beds.
Gregory was available by email during our stay and quickly responded to the few questions we had.
My friends and I had a great stay at Greg's house. It's in a really beautiful part of Aptos deep in the forest, and everything feels very green and alive all around.
Greg was great at communicating and setting expectations beforehand. We had a group of six people, and the four bedrooms were plenty to accommodate us. The room with the hammock is especially fun.
We cooked up a huge feast and had lots of fun listening through Greg's wonderful record collection. When we cooked too much food, Greg kindly let us take one of his spare plastic containers to take our leftovers with us. Thanks Greg for your hospitality!
We absolutely loved it. Greg's home was well maintained, well stocked, and has an amazing view of Monterey bay, yet it was secluded and full of style and warmth. Noisewater (their enormous and friendly white dog) kept great company as we listened to their collection of vinyl and had a bbq. It was exactly the escape we were looking for.
Plus, seriously, who doesn't want a hammock in their room?
