The house is located off the beaten path in a beautifully secluded area. It's so big and spacious and comfortable with a superb kitchen. The hot tub is excellent and the pool, lovely and they are the perfect place to relax.
I'd definitely go back and stay again. It's one of the most relaxing places I've ever been. Wild turkeys and mule deer were always around in the morning.
A great place to stay.
I booked Sweet Mountain for a two night family vacation. The house and land surrounding it was perfect! The view out to the bay and into the treetops was beautiful. The house had everything (pots, pans, cutting boards, etc) we needed to prepare and cook our meals, and a open kitchen/living/dining room where we could spend time all together.
The drive up was very windy, make sure to follow Greg's directions and not GPS. I recommend coming up in the day time (especially on your first drive up).
Greg responded to my request and messages within a day and was really helpful answering any questions we had. He was also watching out for our arrival and helped direct us after we accidentally passed the house. (If you get to a fork in the road where both roads become gravel-- you have gone too far).
Greg was a great host and the Sweet Mountain home is a unique and amazing place to stay. Greg reached out to us before, during and after our trip to make sure everything went well. The house was clean and the location and views cannot be matched. We were able to spend a day at the beach in Capitola and still enjoy the quiet comforts of a cabin in the mountains. Thank you for a really special weekend!
It is a place that you need to reserve and visit because it's a unique experience. From taking the tricky yet beautiful path towards the location is an experience you'll always remember. I recommend getting to know Greg because he knows the area very well and a great person to talk to with great recommendations. I am already looking forward to my next visit in the summer!
Gregory was very accommodating throughout our stay and responded to emails promptly. The property was beyond beautiful - like the other reviews have said, the pictures absolutely do not do it justice. However, the refrigerator did not work throughout our stay, despite telling Gregory about the problem at the beginning of our trip. Instead, we had to use a cooler and ice to store our food, which didn't leave enough space and most of it went bad. If that were fixed, the stay would've been almost perfect; only found one hammock to put up in the "hammock grotto," and we couldn't use the pool heater as he said it would be too expensive. Overall, it was a beautiful and great experience for my friends and I, one that would have been perfect if we did not lose $100+ worth of food plus gas getting down to Safeway everyday because of the refrigerator.
Greg was awesome, everything was ready and setup for us to use. the place was clean and gorgeous. It was a beautiful place inside and out. The grill had all the equipment for its use there was a lot of wood for use to use in the very well implemented fireplace( there was no smell of smoke escaping it). Greg sent precise directions to get to the house after making several trips to town I found an even easier path. From Take a right onto Soquel Dr from the Safeway parking lot, then make a left onto Trout Gulch(make sure you are on trout gulch for the first mile it is easy to take a wrong turn and end up on Valencia) then next take a left onto Fern Flat, then drive until you find the prettiest house on the road :]. The entire trip from Safeway should take about 20minutes(PS day commute highly recommended for a bunch of reasons). Enjoy, i did! :] Thanks Greg and Miles
This property is so beautiful. I woke up in the morning and walked outside and it felt like I was in a fairytale. It was prefect for a weekend deep into the woods. Greg was awesome about addressing all my concerns in a very timely manner. I highly recommend this place if you are in need of a woodsy, secluded, cozy retreat.
It's absolutely beautiful up at the Sweet Mountain house - we stayed there for a company retreat (5 adults) and it worked out perfectly.
An absolutely incredible property that surpassed expectations. The host provided so many wonderful amenities that complimented the dreamy, relaxing ambience nicely. I'm hoping to go back again in the future.
This is a really comfortable spot in a beautiful location!
