My girlfriend, Margot, and I bought an old Adirondack dairy farm in the summer of 2012 with plans to rebuild the dairy and make artisanal cheeses.

We had an incredible stay at Sugar House Creamery. It was a beautiful space, warm, cozy and welcoming. We loved listening to records while making dinner! It's the perfect, intimate space for two people, with all the rustic, hipster decorations that come with every city person's back-to-the-land fantasies. It was so fun to tour the creamery and meet all the cows, and the cheese was delicious! Margot and Alex were great hosts, we couldn't have asked for a better weekend!
Simplicity and serenity are the selling points of Sugar House Creamery’s guest suite. If you’re looking for an escape from your usual bustle, booking this BnB is the way to go. Though terms like ‘cozy,’ quaint,’ and ‘cute’ may be a bit overused for dairy farm bed and breakfast reviews, they’re a perfectly appropriate fit here. The suite has a hospitable hominess to it; you’ll likely notice this the moment you set your bags down and settle into the soft chairs beside the record player. When Margot delivers the delicious, beautiful breakfast in the morning, complete with cheese and milk straight from the farm (seriously, it’s like eating the perfect Instagram foodie photo), you’ll feel like your day is already made. Alex is an endearing, conversational host who is happy to show you around the farm. Whether your stay is under the summer sun or during the blistering cold of winter, Sugar House Creamery has a subtle magic that sticks around in any season.
Perfect getaway. We loved the fresh breakfast everyday. Would certainly stay again. Thanks
Margot is super nice, and the carriage house was a perfect cozy escape! The location is extremely close to whiteface, and only a few minutes from Lake Placid. Will absolutely visit again
This was our second stay at the Sugar House Creamery and we enjoyed it tremendously. Our cozy room provided every comfort and many thoughtful touches such as fuzzy slippers, small refrigerator, and coffee/tea provisions. The bucolic country setting is the perfect antidote to stressful city living, and Margot & Alex are wonderful hosts....warm, welcoming, and inspiring. It was great to come back and see how their small farm has grown into a such a successful enterprise, and to feast on yummy breakfasts of homemade cheese, bread, butter, fruit and oatmeal. We also stocked up on delicious fresh raw milk and more cheeses from their farm store to bring home. The Adirondack region offers fantastic skiing, skating and winter sports (and in summer, great hiking, climbing, fishing, boating and swimming). So much to do and so little time... We miss it already and will definitely be back!!!
We had a great stay, the carriage house was well equipped and inviting. Alex and Margo were very nice and helpful with dining suggestions, and the cheese from the farm store was delicious!
My wife and I had an amazing experience staying at the Sugar House Creamery. Alex and Margot were very welcoming, and are running a beautiful farm making delicious cheese. This was one of the most relaxing weekends we've had via Airbnb, and we're already planning to come back next year. Oh, and the breakfasts are not to be missed!
Alex and Margot (stella and Wendy too) were wonderful hosts. We truly enjoyed the suite and daily breakfast on their creamery. This is a perfect way to unwind off the beaten path--- 15 minutes away from lake placid and whiteface. Still enjoying their cheeses- delicious!!
The Sugar House was awesome. Really nice inside, record player was stocked with some pretty good albums which was also a plus. Alexander was friendly, and we enjoyed our time in the Lake Placid area greatly. I would definitely stay there again in the future
Great location for a relaxing stay outside beaten paths. Farm store is perfect have access to fresh farm products. I would eat Dutch Knuckle at every meal! Convenient location for ones interested in hiking or anything Lake Placid has to offer. Pleasant and friendly host. Would recommend Sugar House barn to anyone!
Alexander was a great guest. He was communicative and very friendly, and took great care of my place. I would welcome him back anytime!
