Our stay at the Sweetest Room was perfect, and even though we never met, communication with Megan was clear and courteous. Spud the cat was a wonderful, cuddly bonus, and we'd love to stay again if the chance arises.
Quite a nice and cozy apartment in the great neighborhood of whicker park ...the train station is close by which "division".the recommendations of F&B outlets given by Megan was really good. Will surely stay here next time
Megan's apartment is at a great location, very convenient to the "L'". Her apartment is very cozy and clean, and indeed, very sweet. I also love cats and dogs, so having Spud to play with was a plus for me.
Megan recently hosted us at her place for a week in Oct, 2015. Though we only met briefly during check in, she was easy to correspond with and very flexible. The apartment was fantastic and all the plants and design elements made the place feel like a real home. The apartment is 10-15 minutes walking to everything I needed such as public transportation, great food, and bars. Her place was also very quiet despite being off busy Division. If I were in Chicago again, I would stay here.
Perfect and totally awesome! The space was even better than we expected and the location was a huge hit with my soon to be in-laws
Megan's design expertise is obvious in the details of her gorgeous Wicker Park apartment. It's a lovely, light-filled space with charming retro touches and thriving indoor plants.
Megan was beyond accommodating, before and during our stay. She greeted us on arrival and offered useful tips around local markets and stores, before leaving us to rest up after our long flight (the bed was very comfortable).
The apartment was impeccably clean and is perfectly situated in the vibrant, fun area of Wicker Park. It’s a couple of blocks from the Blue Line train (which goes from O’Hare airport to downtown, via some of Chicago’s coolest neighbourhoods). It is a stones throw from bars, restaurants and entertainment venues.
We had a slight hiccup with wifi during our stay, which Megan rectified very quickly. She was also very generous with our check out arrangements, allowing us to stay until 4pm so we didn’t have to kill too much time at the airport.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Megan’s place to friends or family and would stay there again in a heartbeat if I were to visit Chicago again. We loved our time in Chicago and Megan’s wonderful Wicker Park digs.
Megan described this as the sweetest room in Wicker Park and being close to everything; it is a modest description, if anything: her flat was warm and lovely, filled with greenery and light; she and Spud were inviting and affable; and all you might want in Wicker Park is within mere blocks. All in her space seems chosen deliberately, by design and for effect. You will feel instantly welcome. We brought Megan some vegan cookies, and discovered mutual interest in cooking and baking. Spud the cat was sweet and round. For being in the middle of a vibrant neighborhood, the room was surprisingly, and delightfully, calm. Little noise filtered in, even with the windows wide open. Residents were in the daytime friendly, and the night crowd was eager but not rowdy. A (email hidden) called Goldstar is a block away. Intelligentsia coffee was just down Division Street. Further on, maybe a mile or so, you'll come to Lake Michigan. We were 10 minutes' walk from the shops and restaurants of Milwaukee Street. (Amble to the corner of Augusta and Wolcott for a peek at the Shit Fountain, a coiled bronze sculpture in response to passing dogs and their leavings.) Hilary and I had a wonderful stay, and if, or when, we return to Wicker Park, we will certainly seek to stay with Megan again.
Megan was super accommodating and quick to respond. Through booking to checkout, everything was easy peasy. Her apartment is a treasure-filled with vintage goodness and comfortable design. I wish I could have duplicated it and taken it home for me to live in. Spud the cat was equal parts adorable and chill.
The location is super easy to access from the interstate, and surrounded by fun shops and tasty places to eat.
Thanks Megan, we'd come back any time!
Megan's home was absolutely wonderful! The decor was amazing. The location was ideal. And Spud the cat was such a sweetheart! The apartment was about a 3 minute walk to the Blue Line and was surrounded by great restaurants and local shops. Although we never ran into Megan, her friend Steve was there to welcome us and he was very helpful and answered our text messages quickly! Just bear in mind that the apartment is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. It was no problem for us but if you are not able to climb the stairs then it might not be for you. We very much enjoyed our trip to Chicago and Megan's apartment was instrumental in how much we fell in love with the city.
Everything about our stay at Megan's apartment was perfect. Prompt replies via email or text, easy check in/direction information, prime location, comfortable digs, cute cat to play with - exactly what we needed for a weekend in Chicago.
It was the right amount of space for 2 and had every amenity we could possibly need.
I would most certainly stay at Megan and Spud's again!
