I live in Rome but I travel a lot between Brazil and Italy for business. I love to have guests in my place in Trastevere and take care of them :)
This apartment is great. Spacious, clean ,comfortable and in a great location. Trastevere has loads of bars and restaurants so we never needed to go far in the evening. It's gets really buzzy at night but the the flat was still quiet. We loved it.
We had great clear communication with Leo and Marco and a lovely warm welcome.
Appartement très sympa, bien situé et calme dans un quartier pourtant bien animé. Hôtes sympathiques.
Marco and Leo were great hosts. Everything was perfect. The apartment is very nice and is located in "the middle of everything". All tourist attractions are in walking distance. And there are a lot of nice bars and restaurants around.
We absolutely loved the apartment! It was in a fantastic location and far more spacious then the photos make the apartment appear to be! The wifi worked perfectly and the bed and couch were very comfortable! We were impressed with it all! We also made it to all the restaurant recommendations by Leo and they were fantastic! Highly recommend Marco's apartment!
This is a great spot. Marco the owner is a really nice guy, as is Leo who met us right on time outside the building (in the rain no less) when we arrived, and cheerfully gave us great tips on eating etc. in the neighbourhood. The apartment is cozy but bigger than it looks, very comfortable, fully functioning kitchen (I cooked) and nice dining/living room to chill out in. Super clean. Really quiet neighbourhood, but close to everything. It's not so easy to find at first - useful to print out a detailed map from the internet to help the taxi driver or to come on foot from the nearest tram stop (maybe 500 m away, but a bit confusing the first time). Not luxury, but perfect for a couple or solo traveler who just want a quiet normal apartment to enjoy Roma.
Very nice apartment, location excellent and i slept like a baby,
hosts where wonderful thanks Helgi
Very nice stay at Marco's house.
Appartment convenient, pretty and bigger than what it looks like on the photos.
Area (Trastevere) is charming.
Very good choice!
It was a pleasure meeting Marco when we arrived. Since the cleaner couldn't make it, he was cleaning himself, made sure we were set up, and expressed a friendly helpful vibe. His place was perfect for the week we stayed in Rome. The location is quaint and the local fare was top notch authentic. We were able to walk to every destination we wanted. The mountain behind the building provides a great view of the city, as well. Thank you for providing fruit and for setting the heater well. We loved your place! Lastly, the internet issue was solved before we got there. We had very reliable, fast internet- which helped in our adventure. Highly recommend!
This apartment was awesomely located in a really fun neighborhood with a great nightlife - but was also completely quiet for us every night, and we slept really, really well. The perfect combination. We only took public transportation twice, and walked everywhere. Trastevere is a fabulous location for a home base to explore a lot of fascinating places in the city. It has it all.
Our hosts were really nice. Marco, who was very friendly via email, was out of town but told us that his friend Rocio would let us in. She was very kind and friendly. We had gotten a little lost and were about an hour late, which was probably inconvenient for her, but she was really sweet and understanding about it. She met us in the street and gave us a good tour of the apartment (in Spanish because that worked better for me). The apartment is much, much bigger than it looks in the pictures, which was an unexpected plus. We loved having a washing machine and used it twice!
Our only issue with the place was that we could not get the wifi to work on our phones (but read below, because our hostess did try to help). This might be because the password was handwritten on a piece of paper and was 26 letters and numbers long(!). We tried every sort of combination or interpretation - replacing "o" with zero, 5 with "s", etc. - but just couldn't get it. But it also could just have been malfunctioning; we couldn't tell. I won't bore you with the details, but we had some reasons we needed to have wifi access for those few days, so we were frustrated at first. But of course since we were in Rome and it is an amazing and fabulous city, we got over it pretty quick. A ton of cafes and restaurants in the area had free wifi so we just loitered around those places.
I called Rocio about the internet issue and though I could tell she was out and in a busy place and I had a little trouble communicating exactly what the issue was in Spanish, she was very responsive and helpful, offering to come back the next day at a certain time. But since we already had plans to be out of the house at that time we said no thanks. She also offered to have someone else call and help (I didn't totally understand who) but because we couldn't leave our phones on "roaming" we had to decline that, too.
I think that if Marco could possibly switch the password to something shorter, or at least type out the password so there would be no ambiguity about letters versus numbers, then the apartment would be an even better home base in this truly unforgettable, stunning city. In all, though, we had a truly fantastic time. Thanks so much!
