Hey, I'm Philip!
Dublin, Dublin, Ireland · Member since October 2012

Hello, my name is Philip. I'm a professional working in Dublin, Ireland, although my home is Toronto, Canada. When travelling abroad I really appreciated the comforts of a shared space, rather than the cold, impersonal welcome of a hotel.

I am an easy-going, respectful and social person who believes that meeting new people is the best part about travelling to new places. This reason motivates my reasons for find apartments or homes in the very heart of cities where I travel.I am often travel with my partner Katie, who shares my enthusiasm when travelling for authentic experiences.

Why Airbnb?
I enjoy finding places and using Airbnb when travelling, because it offers an authentic experience when travelling. When we are able to find unique, inviting homes to stay, it allows us to pretend we're not tourists and escape while on holiday.

What am I looking for in an Airbnb accommodation?
I am looking for a place that is just outside the heart of the city, where it would be easy to walk, cycle or take transit to visit the nearby sights, restaurants, museums, galleries and cafes. We're looking for hosts that are sociable, positive and creative individuals, whose homes express a similar character.

There are many places on my list of cities to visit, including:
Copenhagen (Denmark), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Berlin (Germany), Tokyo (Japan), Budapest (Hungary), Barcelona (Spain), Reykjavik (Sweeden) and the Arctic Circle.

My personal interests include:
Painting, Illustration and Photography
Outdoor Camping, Cycling and Swimming
Cinema (particularly world cinema and classics)
