Beach lover, semi-escapee from the corporate world- still have one foot in - but the other one is at the beach ! Love exploring SF and sharing my "finds". Every neighborhood and every street has treasures !
Carol was a great host. Everything was just as described and she gave us lots of help and information to make our stay the best. The bed was comfy, the room was spacious, the bathroom private, the house was quiet, and we used her kitchen to make our breakfast, We were very pleased.
My really really long stay at Carol's was very pleasant. The house and the neighborhood are quite and clean, and it literally takes you only a right turn to the beach. For those who want to have a taste of SF without all the craziness in downtown, this is a perfect place.
There is a Safeway right at the corner, plus quite a few bus lines that run through to the financial district.
I had many fun talks with Carol, as well as with her dog Leo (who likes shrimps and yogurt if you'd like to butter him up).
The master bedroom is on the top floor (3rd) with ample space and its own bathroom, which is great since I had to get up really early in the morning. I wish I could have had a little run by the beach everyday. But it was nice to know that it's right there. I'd definitely go back if I visit SF again and I highly recommend Carol's place.
I forgot to add, we needed a parking spot that was in front of Carol's home and she actually parked out front to save us a spot and gave it to us when we arrived. This was the extra mile that she went for us and it was really a big plus. It was important because my sister was leaving at 5am in the morning (for safety).
Staying at Carol´s house in Private Master Suite is an excellent choice. This was my first time in SF and I spent perfect 3 days at Carol´s home. The room is very clean and nicely furnished. I enjoyed having my own private bathroom. But I could also share Carol´s kitchen, which was really convenient, for making a cup of tea etc.. Also, the location is great; just next door to Ocean Beach, bus stop and supermarket.
Carol was a great hostess and Leo (the dog) was an absolute charmer. She has a lovely home and the private master suite was very comfortable and private for my fiancé and myself during our short stay visiting family and site seeing in and around SF.
The location was perfect for us, as we had a car and there was parking right in front, and she is right next to the beach and golden gate park. In fact, Carol was so thoughtful so as to save a space for when we arrived.
There's also plenty of public transportation nearby and some cute cafés about a 10-15 minute walk away.
We would certainly recommend Carol and will consider her again for our next visit.
Loved staying at "Leo's at the Beach". Carol and Leo (the sweet Dalmatian) were terrific hosts. The house is on quiet street 2 blocks from Ocean beach and a very short walk to the Cliff House. The master bedroom/bath are on the 3rd floor-private and extremely comfortable, I honestly had the best sleep I've had in years!! I walked up to the VA on Clement every day for 4 days and found it a good location for that even though I'm not used to walking hills. If you want a peaceful, relaxing, and charming place to stay while in SF you can't beat Carol's. Highly recommended!!
My stay with Carol was great. The airbed was a large (tall) one so it was very comfortable! There was a lot of room in the living room for my things and to not feel crammed. Carol is very nice, helpful and understanding!
Had a great time staying with Carol during my visit to SF! Had never done the Airbnb thing and was apprehensive initially. Leading up to the trip, she was very helpful with questions I had regarding transportation to her place, what to pack, etc. When I arrived, she showed me the space, which is actually a living room with a very comfortable full sized air mattress, and curtains for privacy from the foyer and dining room. The private half bath on the main floor is very small, sink is a little awkward to get to, but overall it serves its purpose. Kitchen is available, fridge, microwave, coffeepot. Showering was the only reason I needed to go to the 2nd level of the house. No scheduling conflicts there, Carol was courteous about making sure guests were able to shower when they needed to.
Although Carol's place is only about two blocks from the ocean, on the far western end of the city, public transportation to other areas was easy. There are bus stops for 2 lines within a couple blocks of her house. She had all kinds of maps to get around, and suggestions on where to go and what to do, whether you wanted the tourist trip, or wanted to see SF from a local's point of view. For arriving visitors, I highly recommend taking BART from the airport to the Powell Station downtown. Go to the Visitors Center there and buy a MUNIpassport, for 3 days or 7 days, depending on how long you're staying. This is good for pretty much all public transport around the city, except BART. A 7 day passport is $28. No dealing with cash fares for every ride to go where you wanna go. A warning, tho, it's EASY to get from Carol's place to downtown or wherever, but it IS NOT QUICK. If time is a concern in your plans, allow close to an hour for a one-way trip. Maybe a little exaggerated, but better to leave early than arrive late! I had more time than money and just explored the city at a leisurely pace. A lot to see on the bus rides, too, different neighborhoods, etc. Another warning, walking is great, but the terrain may change, literally, from block to block. LOTS of hills!
In a nutshell, staying with Carol was a very pleasant experience. She absolutely respected my privacy, but also expressed interest in my plans for each day, and would provide any helpful information she had about what to see, where to eat, etc. Her dalmatian, Leo, was sweet to have around too. You were just aware that he was there, very well behaved, loved attention, and stayed by Carol's side most of the time. I would definitely stay with Carol and Leo again if the opportunity arises for another visit to SF.
Carol was a perfect host, very helpful in giving suggestions about places to visit and restaurant to go. In addition, the room was very nice, comfortable and with a great view on the Golden Gate Park.
Finally, the house is located in a nice neighborhood of San Francisco, not so far from the downtown and very safe.
