Paolo - Venezia
We splashed out on a private water taxi from the airport , a wonderful way to start our trip. Having given the driver Paolo's number we were dropped just 3 minutes from the apartment. Paolo was there to welcome us and took us to the apartment. It was a wonderful welcome with Prosecco, beer ,olives and crackers. The apartment is exactly as seen with everything you could need - even oil and spices. We did not cook but everything was there should you wish to. We felt at the heart of Castello area , real Venetian society . It is a few minutes walk to Arsenale boat stop and we found a couple of wonderful restaurants near to the appartment. You must try Al Covo - its expensive but has a wonderful fish menu, as does its sister restaurant in the same street. Paolo was an excellent host and the apartment was perfect for us,
and good value as this was Carnival time. Would recommend this to all my friends.
The flat is a perfect little gem. The area is fantastic, very conveniently located for the public water transport, yet perfect if one is inclined to try the true Venice experience of getting lost in the calli and in the campi, it's close to the shops and to some unmissable ostarie. Paolo is the perfect host, very available, he came to meet us at the vaporetto and gave us a great deal of useful tips. Highly recommended.
The apartment was clean, quiet and in a wonderful neighbourhood - Paulo was a relaxed and charming host and I highly recommend staying there - we hope to return!

Charming one bedroom apartment used by the owner's family when not rented. It is tucked in a quiet and authentic Venetian neighborhood providing a respite from the busy tourist foot traffic .
Only 15 minutes at most from San Marco. A real neighborhood with friendly local stores, cafés & children going to school all anchored by the Arsenale & permanent Bienale site. The owner is generous, gracious and informative.
My wife and I stayed at Casa Della Sposa for just a few nights this October. Paolo was a great guest, met us at the vaporetto station (Arsenal) stop and helped us find the apartment. He was in a hurry for us own trip but still had time to give us a map, highlighted local restaurants and other attractions away from the tourist traps. Paolo had also put out some local wine, cheese and grapes.
The apartment isn't too hard to find, is at the back of a large courtyard and was very quiet. The place was clean and adequate for a nice stay right in Venice. Recommended for sure!
Nice and quite apartment off the beaten track. Super location for the biennale. A bit of a walk from the main tourist attractions (San Marco, Rialto).
Paolo the host was very welcoming and picked us up from the water-bus (Vaporeto) station. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen, internet Wi-Fi (a bit slow), all linen needed, wellington boots & umbrellas (for occasional high waters) and has got a nice patio. A bottle of cold Prosecco awaited us when we came from the station.
Perfect for a couple. Possible also for 3-4 people.
The plaster in some places is coming off a bit but this is (not yet) at a level that disturbs.
All in all a very good experience at a decent price level (compared to hotels I looked at).
We had a fantastic five days staying in Paolo's apartment. Everything was as advertised, the apartment was a quiet refuge from the tourist madness that can be Venice, was a 7-8 minute walk from the Arsenale ferry stop and had some very reasonable restaurants within a short walk. Paolo was extremely helpful and met us at the ferry to guide us to the apartment. Highly recommended
Wonderful little apartment. Terrific very quiet location in Castello. The only sound to wake you are the church bells. A beautiful hidden garden and a little private one for breakfast. Paolo is a gentleman and gracious. Wine, cheese, olives and fruit were left for us on arrival. It is very handy and close to the Bienniale. My only regret is our visit wasn't longer. Will stay here again. Highly recommended.
This was the perfect place to stay! It is away from the tourists and really gives you a taste of what it would be like to live in Venice. We loved it there! Paulo is an incredible host. He so thoughtfully met us at the vaporetto and greeted us after our long journey with wine, cheese and olives. He taught us the best places to go to truly experience Venice. Breakfast in the private courtyard started each day beautifully.
Paolo has been with me four days and I can say that it is an excellent host of rare education, very correct kind and friendly.
It 'was a very good knowledge and I'm really glad I hosted.
Thank you very much Paolo!
