I stayed at this lovely apartment with two friends over a long weekend in Venice. Paolo was a charming host and made us all feel very welcome and at home. He was prompt and extremely helpful with answering any questions before we arrived and advised us on how to book a water taxi from the airport, meeting us on arrival just minutes from the apartment. At the property he had laid out a wonderful spread of fresh coffee, prosecco and delicious snacks which was super generous of him. He also showed us how to find everything on a map and made some great restaurant and bar suggestions.
Situated in a beautiful old 14th century building, the apartment is very clean and modern and there were more than enough towels and extra bedding, plus a fridge stocked with goodies. The beds were comfortable and really we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay.
The neighbourhood is very quiet and safe and away from the main tourist areas which was a godsend. Yet it was still only 15 minutes walk to the centre and pretty much in easy reach of everything.
We couldn't recommend this place enough - for a group of friends, a couple or family with small children.
we stayed at the apartment for 4 nights last week. the apartment is just as it looks in the photos - lovely. it is well equipped and has everything one needs. the only minus I can point out is that the shower stall is quite small - but really, it's a very slight criticizm.
The neighborhood is lovey - close to San Marco (a 10-15 minute walk), and situated close to small bars/caffes, it was great to be in a nice, interesting residential neighborhood, and yet close to the Arsenale, San Marco, etc.
Paolo is a great host. he met our water taxi close to the apartment upon our arrival at 22:00 !! as previous guests have written, he prepared a bottle of Prosecco for us, with Mozzarella balls, olives and potato chips. the fridge was stocked and he urged us to use what we needed. Paolo is very helpful and knowledgeable regarding transportation, sights and things to do in Venice.
It was a great pleasure to stay in the apartment - I definitely recommend it for a great stay in Venice.
We loved our stay at this charming apt. We were greeted at the vaporetta stop by Paola who walked us to the apt. He had a nice spread of freshly brewed coffee, olives, cheese, chips, Prosceco, water, soda and walnuts waiting for us. The apt is in a nice, quiet neighborhood in a VERY cool older building with a private patio, garden and courtyard. Everything was great. Felt like a local for 4 days, away from the crowds, but close to everything. Highly recommend staying here.
I can highly recommend both Paolo and the flat. Paolo was prompt with his responses and went out of his way to ensure that everything went well. The flat is as advertised, modern, well equipped, peaceful yet very close to everything in Venice; it was clean and worked out perfectly for the 5 days we were there.
This our first trip to Venice, and our first AirBnB experience, and Paulo was the perfect host. He met us at the ferry, explained all the necessary local stops and shops, and was always on hand to answer any queries about restaurants and water taxis. The apartment was lovely. Spacious, spotlessly clean and really quiet - an ideal place to relax after a busy day's sight-seeing. A true Italian 'welcome' of Prosecco, olives, and mozzarella was waiting for us, which all added to a wonderful experience in a stunning city. We'd happily go back again.
Paolo is a wonderful host. Before we arrived he informed us already via mail about all the possibilities how we can get from the airport to Venice by private taxi, shared taxi or the water bus naming all the stops where he can pick us up. We met us at the taxi stop and he took us to the apartment to ensure we wouldn't get lost and pointing out all the amenities on the way. When we arrived at the apartment Paolo had prepared a typical Italian "aperitivo" for us which was very charming. Then he prepared us with maps and books for discovering Venice giving us also recommendations for bars and restaurants. The apartment itself is spacious, clean and tidy and just as Paolo describes it. We found everything very comfortable and enjoyed the quite and beautiful surrounding. We enjoyed to be so close to San Marco Piazza (approx. 10 minutes) and had a beautiful firework there for the New Year. The location of the apartment is a super place to really experience the best of Venice.
Paolo’s secret hideaway in Venice was a perfect spot for our holiday vacation! We arrived later in the evening and Paolo was waiting for us at the vaporetto stop to wisk us away into the maze of Venice. The apartment was spotless and filled with food and drink for us to share, which was wonderful since we were so tired and just wanted to unwind and relax with a nice glass of prosecco. We were there a little less than a week and never heard a sound or saw any neighbors, so we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. I would love to come back in the warmer months to be able to take advantage of the breathtaking patios that were available to us. We were only a 10-15 minute walk away from Piazza San Marco (if you don’t get lost) but just far away to feel like we were part of the actual Venetian community and not the tourist hub.
For those of you looking for details on the finer print…the apartment is just as described in words and in the pictures, along with a very snuggly comforter on the bed! I would highly recommend this listing in a heartbeat to anyone.
This was an accomodation as it should be when you stay via Airbnb somewhere. The appartment is located in a rather calm neighbourhood of Venice. Perfect to explore the life in this amazing City a bit away from the touristic centres. Nevertheless only some minutes walk away from the famous locations. Paolo was the perfect host. Guiding us after our arrival quite late in the evening personally to the appartment. He explained everything what is necessary when you are new in town. The communication was very prompt, easy and incredibly friendly all over the time. When we arrived in his nice appartment we found more than enough to have a relaxed first evening with something to eat and drink. Thank you Paolo for the just perfect experience. We would be more than happy to stay again at your appartment the next time we are in Venice.
Paolo was a wonderful host, meeting us and taking us to and from the apartment to ensure we wouldn't get lost and pointing out all the amenities on the way. I have stayed in Venice many times, but this was by far the most authentic and enjoyable accommodation I have had. It was a real Venetian experience in a superb part of Venice. For those of you who don't know Venice well, and want to get a feel for the 'real' Venice, then this is the place. Do not think you are too far from the 'action' (ie tourist central). The walk along the waterfront to the main sites is delightful and there are water buses if you find it too far. But here you are away from the crush of the crowds and you can enjoy the beauty of the walkways and piazzas that make Venice so lovely. We had a brilliant Saturday night at the local bar and many, many wonderful rambling walks around the area and right up to the Ghetto one evening. The apartment itself is spacious, clean and tidy and just as Paolo describes it. We found everything very comfortable and enjoyed cooking our own meals in the well-equipped kitchen when we were tired of eating out. We never heard a peep from anyone at night, and barely saw anyone around the building. The building has a private courtyard and cloistered entry, which is utterly charming. We enjoyed running down to San Marco Piazza at dawn and up to the nearby gardens. This was a super place to really experience the best of Venice.
He picked us up at Arsenale and brought us to a wonderful, silent, clean special appartment! Some beer, prosecco and snacks waited for us! We had a nice talk and it was,so far,our best airbnb experience! Best place to stay in venice! Hope,to see him and venice again! Thx 4 the nice italien job ;o)
Good luck,Paolo with the bees!
It was really nice to host Paolo and his family since they were really kind, relaxed and tolerant guests.
Paolo and his family were very very nice quests. It was fun to have them at our place. Too bad they had to leave so soon. Thank you for the great wineyou brought us from Vanice. Hope to see you again.
Very nice and friendly family!
Paolo has been with me four days and I can say that it is an excellent host of rare education, very correct kind and friendly.
It 'was a very good knowledge and I'm really glad I hosted.
Thank you very much Paolo!
