I enjoyed my stay at Leslie's apartment and my interactions with her were pleasant (all virtual).
The apartment has two bedrooms...I only used the main one and it was fine. I also used her kitchen and this worked out well too. She did not have a coffee maker but there is a great coffee shop down the street on Broadway as well as one one block further. She has a TV in each bedroom and living room (although I did not use) and a nice balcony.
I ended up liking this neighborhood after getting familiar with it. At first I was unsure of the neighborhood since I was not at all familiar with KC. But as other travels have taught me, just give it time to see what emerges. Her apartment is in a building that is older and needing some love as are some of the other buildings in the area. But on my final day, lumber had arrived for some repairs and a guy was out maintaining the outside lawn etc. spiffing things up to the level of the surrounding places. I would say that one just needs to take the cautions as you would in any city.
I took multiple walks and found the Westport neighborhood with restaurants, shops etc. See (website hidden) . Interestingly, I found this had WAY more local flavor than the highly franchised plaza area. And is a very close walk down Center to Westport road...then take a right. Or just up to Broadway and then left.
The wireless internet worked well. I had business to do online during my trip and could use the apartment for this.
So overall, I enjoyed the stay, the space and the location.
FYI, She does ask that you have positive ratings by others or give a deposit but it was fine for me.
I arranged this stay for my parents and my two brothers, so they were the ones that used Leslie's apartment. Nevertheless, I had a chance to see the unit and can safely say that it is a large, accommodating space that is kept in nice condition! The building itself is very old, and looks a bit rough from the outside; but Leslie's apartment is comfy, clean, and features tons of amenities! While I only communicated with Leslie through text and email, she was very straight-forward about her guidelines, and was able to answer my questions quickly.
We really enjoyed staying at Leslie's apartment. It was clean, full of every electronic you could think of and had everything we needed. It's located in the center Westport, so lots of bars and restaurants nearby. We brought our baby so we didn't experience the nightlife but for those looking to stay near all the action this is the place to be.
My stay at this apartment was great! What the photos show is what you get - a lovely retreat in the city. The apartment is in a city environment and is close to all major streets and easy to find. The other tenants that I encountered were very friendly and directed me to the closest stores, etc. Leslie was available for questions regarding the 3D TV (she said we might have questions) and responded almost immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone visiting KC.
Had a fantastic time in Kansas City, and it started with having a wonderful place to stay. Leslie is phenomenal and made sure every detail of the visit was taken care of. She even helped arrange a pick up from the airport for me! The apartment is spacious, clean and the location allows you to move around town easily. Walking distance to Walgreens if you need any supplies, and a short walk to WestPort. TVs in each bedroom with cable and a full kitchen ( although there are so many great BBQ places in town you'll probably never have to use it ) Best of all, Leslie was really attentive and followed up with us if we ever need anything. If I'm ever back in town, I'm sure I'll stay here!
Great location for our visit to Kansas City. Near some fun restaurants and shops in the Westport neighborhood and only a 15 minute walk to the Kansas City Art Institute.
Leslie was great. She responded quickly to any questions we had and made sure we had what we needed for a great stay. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
This was a great apartment to stay in! It was so close to Westport and The Plaza (about a 2 minute drive). The apartment was clean and the bed was comfortable. Leslie was really helpful when we needed something, and she was very quick to respond to any texts or emails.
Leslie was a great host, very easy to get ahold of and helpful. The apartment was the perfect size for us. The centrally urban location is close to everything we wanted to do. Lot's of good restaurants, museums and bookstores within a very short drive. It was easy to find, clean and the neighbors were friendly & polite.
We had a wonderful stay at Leslie's place. It was exactly as described and the location is excellent for visiting Westport.
Leslie was a wonderful host- easy to get ahold of and quick to respond to any questions. The apartment is charming and clean, although the building itself is very old and worn. It's very near just about everything. As long as you aren't picky about the things that come with a very old building, it's a great value and cute apartment!
Leslie is so full of life! It was such a joy to talk to her. She is very friendly and personable. She is very easy to please as well, so appreciative of every little things. If she is visiting Houston again I hope to spend more time with her. Leslie, when I come to Kansas city I am staying with you, your place looks gorgeous!
