We had a marvellous week-long stay in Anita's house. Anita is very welcoming, most helpful with advice and arrangements, and also added nice extra touches such as snacks, fruit, bread and butter when our flight was heavily delayed into a night arrival. The house is extremely comfortable, very well appointed and has lovely views across the harbour. I thoroughly recommend staying at Anita's house.
We 'checked in' at 1pm..Anita met with us, she was very clear and precise assisting us as well, with information + ideas - we'd planned a day trip the next day..
The apartment was very easy to live in - central - clean and well kept…there were little extra's - such as lovely tea's and some chocolate treats…milk in the fridge…and kitted out very nicely
We really enjoyed our stay and will recommend
We had a lovely time at Anita's in Battery Point. She is a great host, and her apartment was the perfect place for our short stay in Hobart. We came down for the start of the Dark Mofo festival, and although there was some very chilly weather at the time, we felt very comfortable and warm in the apartment. The location is great – a very short and picturesque walk down to Salamanca. I'd happily recommend a stay here, and would come again.
Anita was so easy to communicate with and always answered any queries promptly.
The House was aesthetically very pleasing, warm and cosy. Views to the water from upstairs were so appealing. Info on local things to do was appreciated. Heating was turned on ready for our arrival, thanks. Milk, juice and a few snacks were thoughtful extra touches
Fantastic location within easy walk of Salamanca. Very clean and tastefully decorated apartment. We had a very enjoyable wedding anniversary stay in Hobart at Anita's apartment.
Would not hesitate to recommend and would have no problem returning.
It was very easy to communicate with Anita - she responded promptly. We met Anita at the property in the early afternoon and she showed us around and gave us some great tips for local eateries. The property is very comfortable and there's a great feeling of space - with a sleeping area, a dining area, a lounge area and a well equipped kitchen. There's also a great variety of artwork on the walls - so there's always something interesting to look at. The property is only about 10 minutes' walk from Salamanca Place where the Saturday morning market is held. It's a pleasant walk there and on to the docks and the city. We also enjoyed walking around the side streets of Battery Point to look at the variety of architectural styles, from small wooden workers cottages to the grander houses built of stone or brick. We'd definitely recommend Anita's place as a comfortable and convenient base for a trip to Hobart.
This apartment is superb from the location, to the views of the Derwent, to the under floor heating. Alison made a point of greeting us and offering suggestions of local bars cafés/restaurants and the Salamanca markets was extremely helpful. We loved the art in all of the rooms and the information of what is on/around Hobart to be very helpful. The House is also great value as we had another couple join us and it was perfect for the 4 of us.
We had the most wonderful stay at The House @ Gallery apARTments. Sweeping views of the Derwent River from the light filled living area - also views of our surrounding Battery Point streets - but we remained totally private. Beautiful self contained accommodation which really did feel like a home away from home. We only wished we had stayed longer! Loved the little touches of tea varieties, fresh figs and lemons from the garden and the kids loved the snacks! :) We will definitely be back.
Our family of four stayed in this wonderful house for 3 nights. The house is in a perfect location, walking distance to Salamanca, cafes, parks etc. The house itself is great value, great amenities and very clean. The views from the balcony are incredible and we loved the underfloor heating in the cold mornings! Anita is a great host, always available if we had questions and would get back to us straight away. Thanks Anita!
We loved Anita's place! Excellent location with a nice walk to the markets and great restaurants nearby. The decor is lovely, the bed is comfortable, and we appreciated her hospitality - allowing us to arrive and leave at any time of the day, and providing yummy snacks, tea, and orange juice.
A few tips for future guests:
1. Make sure the window above the front door is closed if staying during a colder month (it's quite high up and difficult to close on your own)
2. Arriving past ~4:30pm allowed us the benefit of finding an all day parking spot as someone left for work. Otherwise, parking might be tricky.
3. If you have any restaurants your keen to try, make reservations in advance as places book-up
