I am originally from the United States . Having been raised in Oregon, I then lived for many years in New York City in a loft in downtown Tribeca. I have worked as a freelance photographer for over thirty years and my work has taken me to some pretty far-flung corners of the world. I think that I have always had the travel bug and luckily being a travel, interiors and portrait photographer ( known as "LIfestyle" in the business..) I have been able to snoop around other people's homes for many years!
I moved to London eighteen years ago and I think of my home here as a sort of "Tribeca comes to London in the guise of Jane Austin's cousin, Marie Antoinette." It's an eclectic mix of old and new and things I have procured here and there.
I am a classical music lover (and keen amateur cellist). One of the best things about living in London is the quality and amount of concerts available here. The Wigmore Hall, King's Place and the Southbank Centre ( easy to reach from Battersea ..) all offer extraordinary value for money. You can walk to the Cadogan Hall, a fantastic concert venue in Chelsea's Sloane Square from my Battersea home. The best musicians in the world play here in London and it's relatively easy to book tickets. And speaking of culture, you will be spoiled for choice in terms of great theatre . The West End productions and the National Theatre's three stages will keep you entertained for weeks.
I recently stayed in a charming Airbnb flat in Copenhagen. It was wonderful to instantly feel at home in a new city. The best thing about travel is observing how other people live their lives. It makes travel a lot more interesting if you are staying somewhere that feels as though it is owned by your best friend.
What is my life motto? "Carpe Diem!"
