Aloha Abode is a unique community in Honolulu with private units and common areas set up as a living room, kitchen, dining and backporch area perfect for hanging out and bbq. We are a group of educated students, grad students, professors, educators, researchers, travel nurses, young professionals, yogis, spiritual travelers and other travelers (with the majority of us in our late 20's to early 30's, although there are a few outside that range) living the island dream. We are clean, fun, friendly, calm, relaxed, considerate of others, easy to get along with, enjoy each other's company (when we have time), communicate easily, and like to socialize when we have the time. We often have spontaneous dinners together, watch some tv shows or movies together, go hiking, take Zumba classes, head to the beach, spend time talking and hanging out in the common area. Many of us have busy schedules and lots to do outdoors or studying to do so the building can be pretty calm and quiet. We are a pretty mellow household, some of us are social, but definitely not big partiers or a party house. We keep things pretty chill, clean and organized. ABOUT THE AREA: We are located in the Kaimuki area on 2nd Ave. The building is walking distance to many grocery stores, a variety of restaurants, food, bars, etc. We are centrally located near UH Manoa and less than a block from Chaminade University. The house is close to Waikiki, Diamond Head and Kahala and ½ block from the local area bus line. We're centrally located, with super easy access to H1. Less than a 10 minute bike ride to the beach, Ala Moana or Kahala. We are conveniently located in the area where Kapiolani and Kapahulu intersect, and where Beretania and King come together, with super easy access to H1.
Amelia manages the building Aloha Abode in paradise but all the residents are friendly locals excited to share. We love the island life in Honolulu and look forward to sharing it with you! We both love adventures, travels, and exploring the unexperienced.
While living the island life, I love to swim to the windsock @ Kaimana Beach, yoga in Kapiolani Park, kayak, snorkel, hike, go to Zumba, eat great food, go camping, ride my bike to the beach, to 24 hour fitness and around the city. I am very social and have great ideas of things to do. Caring about others is my passion and I love living in a social friendly community. I have a Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount University, after completing my undergrad degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Women Studies from Seattle University.
We love adventurous and active travel. At Aloha Abode, we provide bikes, snorkel gear, boogie boards, kayaks, a surf board, and other beach supplies to get you started on many adventures right away. We live in a convenient location with many activities around us. We provide an activity binder with information on many nearby hikes, free bootcamps, yoga and running groups. We love having a couple guests to share our fun local experiences and insights. Everyone at the building is friendly and helpful. We love to meet you and provide a tour when you arrive with additional info as well as help you with anything you need during your stay.
