HI everyone, please read these reviews with a grain of salt, caution, or your head of a swivel. Have you ever visited a place, or a hotel, or an accomodation, or a room and felt uncomfortable? I am sure it has happened to many people.
In regards to changing my plans, it was a blessing in disguise for me as my work plans changed so I was hoping to cancel the remaining day of my stay, unforutnately I was unable to, so I stayed.
As for expecting a hotel like experience. I think this is fair, especially for paying $150 per night. In terms of my expectations: fresh towels, clean home, travel sized toiletries (although I always bring my own). Simple things that can go a long way.
In terms of a clean home. The place was not a mess, it was not filthy, as I said it was cluttered with stuff all over the place, especially in the outdoor entrance (appliciances, old bikes, travel suitcases, boxes).
At the end of the day, we should always think twice of where we stay and who we invite into our homes. In this case, I would not recommend this place to friends of loved ones - simply put. If you want to a bed to sleep in and nothing else, sure stay here. But why not pay the same amount for a hotel down the street on the beach? Or why not choose another place in the area at a lower rate, or as they say, equal rate, and have a more pleasant experience?
Either way, Nika and Austin are kind people who seem to be very happy and enjoy hosting travelers in their home. Their dog is sweet, not aggressive, but can be intimidating.
I used this as a learned experience and will be much more detailed and diligent when choosing a place to rest my mind and body.
