Response from Leigh:
While I am huge on transparency within the collaborative consumption
ecosystem, allowing someone like this who has zero references on his
profile to flat out lie and destroy my reputation is something that I won't
stand for. I would hope that my more than a dozen good references far
outweigh the ranting of an individual who was nothing but a disaster to
Unfortunately my experience hosting Joachim was quite negative. Joachim and
I agreed days before that his stay would commence at 7PM and end at 7PM on
the day he was scheduled to leave. While I was outside the apartment
waiting for him, Joachim was at the wrong building.
The size of the apartment is a measured 400 square feet with 600 square
feet of private outdoor backyard. The apartment is displayed in the photos
exactly as it appears in person. As well, the apartment and linnens are
cleaned before any guest I have arrives.
What bothers me most about Joachim's account of my apartment and his stay
is that when he arrived we chatted inside the apartment for at least 10
minutes before I left on vacation. Joachim was completely comfortable after
looking around the apartment thoroughly and did not raise any issues. And
while my policy with more than 1 guest is usually to have the guest pay
extra, I allowed Joachim ahead of time the ability to have 3 other friends
stay for "a day or two".
When I returned home I found my apartment trashed by Joachim and his
friends, with garbage and food all over the apartment, wet clothing on the
floor, dishes in the sink. They had violated my policy of not going into
the closets to both use and move things they were not supposed to. Joachim
also locked the keys inside the apartment building leaving me no way to get
back in when I returned home.
