Isabel's home is just lovely. It's beautiful, clean and comfortable. Isabel is a wonderful host. She made sure we were comfortable, slept well and even made breakfast for us first thing in the morning! She really goes way beyond expectations. I look forward to returning.
My favorite place in Guadalajara. Isabel is so much fun! Her house is in a very pleasant neighborhood, not far from the center. I've stayed at her house three times now, and enjoyed every stay. Delicious street tacos nearby.
Staying with Isabel was a real joy. She has a beautiful house and is a wonderful hostess! I fully recommend her to those needing a room in Guadalajara.
Isabel was a great hostess. Her house is clean, spacious, and comfortable. Even though she herself doesn't drink coffee, she had an Italian espresso pot and milk ready. It's good I brushed up on my Spanish before I went, though she had a friend on hand to translate just in case.
Isabel helped me with taxis and buses, and showed me around the neighborhood. There's an English bookstore, an Office Max, and lots of cafes and parks nearby. There's a famous restaurant around the corner called "Los Chilaquiles". The place is always packed. (I used it as my taxi stop, because every taxi driver knows where it is...50 pesos from downtown). And there's a famous street taco stand a few blocks away, but its only open at night, and I was too tired to go.
As I am interested in Mexican cooking, Isabel drove me to the Mercado de Abastos, which was actually walking distance from her house. There I found really good fresh-roasted Oaxacan coffee and groceries from all over the world! She showed me how to prepare nopales, how to make green (tomotillo) sauce, and she told me how she prepares beans. She has a hinged stove-top grill for quesadillas that I tried to find in Guadalajara...without luck.
This was one of the best trips I've ever taken. WOW. Thanks, Isabel and AirBnB!
