I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I attended Harvard University and received my MBA from the University of Chicago. I was married to Hanneke van den Eerenbeemt for thirty years and we have two fine sons, both in their thirties, who live and work in Amsterdam. We lived in the USA, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines as a result of my work and ten years in the Netherlands which was my base for M&A work in the environmental area all over Europe. I returned to Chicago in 1999 to start a softward company to develop software for managing schools and school districts and I now work as CEO of a company raising several hundred million dollars to build a cutting edge environmental plant outside of Chicago. I'm 71 years old, play golf & (singles) tennis and just published a book of my photographs - photography has been a life long avocation. I return to the Netherlands annually as the consulting chef on turkey and stuffing preparation for a Thanksgiving feast prepared by my younger son and his wife for friends and family.
