The host was very pleasant. He would help out in any way.
We really enjoyed our stay at Joann & Stuart's vacation home, we enjoyed it so much that we booked it for our vacation next year. Our hosts were great, close by to answer any questions we may have & we enjoyed getting information about the area. We really enjoyed our privacy & sitting on the the back patio & listening to the birds. Joann & Stuart have a beautiful friendly dog & cats that would stop by for a little visit & treat. The house was full of everything we needed & so nicely decorated. We can't wait to return next year, it was definitely our home away from home.....Ruth & Lenny...2015
Our hosts were friendly and available to meet our needs. We were given a thorough tour of the property when we arrived. The listing description was accurate as far as the space was concerned. Of note, was the spectactular mountain views which had to be seen to be believed. The neighborhood was very nice. We will definitely be back. Karon and Stan Rzad (phone number hidden).
Joan and Stewart were excellent hosts they were very accommodating to our timeframe and allowed us the freedom to relax and enjoy the beautiful accommodations they had provided this air B&B goes the extra mile and what is available when you stay there the Quaint one room apartment had all the amenities anyone would need and more. Location is peaceful quiet and stunning with two porches to relax on a very soft and comfy bed top-quality linens but even left food for us and sundries in the kitchen I hope I will have the opportunityto stay there in the future I highly recommend this accommodation for the area
The house we stayed in was very comfortable and very clean, had all accessories that one has at his/her own house, all the little things. Very quiet, peaceful and totally safe.
Canyons were right behind the area, within a couple of miles. It's just like having mountains in your own backyard. For flat-landers like us, it was REALLY great!
Short drives to local restaurants and super market.
It was a great base for us to see local sights: Bisbee, Tombstone, Fort Huachuca, etc.
For us serious cyclists, it was a wonderful place to visit. The whole trip was wonderful.
Thank you, Joann & Stu!
Great hosts, extremely comfortable and quiet accommodations, genuinely friendly community atmosphere, fantastic SE AZ weather and five (5) weeks away from snow, ice and sub-zero cold in the mid-Atlantic - PRICELESS. We have rented vacation homes throughout the US and in western Europe over the past 10 years; Stuart's and Joann's cabin ranks among the very best for its amenities and their attention to detail in every aspect of our stay is unmatched. Stuart and Joann set a very high bar for other proprietors to attempt to reach. We are looking forward to a return to the Sky Island Retreat.
Joanne and Stuart are great hosts. They have even stayed in the cottage just to personally check that everything is working well. From the start, they were clear on the best way to reach them if we had questions or a problems - but we really couldn't have been happier. The little house has many wonderful touches like a real laundry room, a selection of DVDs, kitchen appliances/utensils, attractive bedding, extra towels/blankets, field guides, back patio, grill...There are basic kitchen supplies and condiments, too, plus all the equipment I needed to bake.
The neighborhood is quiet so you can hear the birds singing. We loved riding our road bikes up Ramsey Canyon and into town. If you are there on a Thursday, check out the Farmers' Market.
To conclude this rave review: Joanne's sourdough bread is as amazing as everyone says. And we very much appreciated Stuart's sense of humor and his willingness to share his knowledge about growing trees in the high desert.
A home away from home, beautifully and fully furnished, we really enjoyed our stay. Stuart and Joann made our grandchild feel welcome and we really appreciated that. Our two small dogs enjoyed the stay as well.
Delightful in every way. Joann and Stuart were warm, welcoming and available if we needed anything. They also respected our privacy. Their guest house is clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and well equipped. All of our needs were met and then some.
It's so quiet there. My husband and I were only there for two nights so rather than doing anything too ambitious, we got some much needed sleep therapy!!
Loved sitting on the porch and watching the birds. The Huachuca mountains are close by and very beautiful.
I'm so grateful Stuart and Joann let us bring our two small doggies. That meant a lot to me.
This was our first experience with airbnb. It sets a high bar for other places we might stay in the future.
Thank you, Joann and Paul, for providing such a wonderful experience. I am truly grateful.
We had a wonderful week in Joann and Stuart's well-equipped and comfortable cottage. We loved breakfast on the front porch, enjoying Joann's homemade sourdough bread while a roadrunner zoomed by in the yard and the horse next door ambled around. The cottage is conveniently located near Ramsey Canyon and other great birding spots. After a long day hiking in the canyons or down by the San Pedro River -- and seeing so many gorgeous hummingbirds, a trogon, bridled titmouse and painted redstarts -- we were happy to relax and enjoy making dinner for ourselves back at the cottage. The orange cat became a frequent and welcome visitor, cuddling up with us. All in all, a great place to make a home base for explorations of the amazing outdoor world of Southeastern Arizona. The view of the Huachuca Mountains is awesome! Joann and Stuart were excellent hosts, offering help and guidance if desired, but respecting our privacy. We hope to return some day!
