RedBrick is a wonderful place in the heart of old Calcutta, everything within walking distance. The apartment is huge, clean, old world charm with all the amenities of modern day. Amritendu was away travelling, but made sure we got the keys and his caretaker checked on us everyday of our stay.
Love this place, would definitely stay here again if I visit Calcutta.
Redbrick Sarat Bose is a fantastic place. Laid back, easy and royal experience. It was nice of Amritendu to take my call and give directions from Thailand.
Nandu the caretaker is super efficient and authentic Bengali food is icing on the cake. Books in the room is such bonus.
I'm coming back.
Only suggestion to Amrit is to tie up with AC Taxi service for outstation guest because it's a fight otherwise.
What an amazing house!
Huge, clean, convenient and a small kitchen. A three course meal would be hard but breakfast is definitely possible to be made by yourself.
We had a great stay. Unfortunately the room was booked for our next night but we could stay in an even bigger room, on the ground floor of the building!
However the friendly laundry service turned out quite expensive. A small stain on a otherwise great and remarkable stay.
I had a wonderful time and were taken very well care of. Nandu helped me with everything that I asked for.
I had very nice coffee in the mornings and some good porridge with fresh fruit from the market on request. I could recommend this beautiful furnished house and excellent service and warmth welcoming to everyone. I will definitely go back to this place if coming back to Calcutta. Nandu helped me and was very generous with his knowledge about the city. It is an excellent home stay. Very clean also. Good location and near the metro station. I just have good things to say about this place and Nandu the housekeeper.
My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful property. Its centrally located and very well-connected by the metro station which is a 10-min walk from the house. The hospitality was excellent and the staff did a wonderful job in making us feel at home. The food needs a special mention; we were served delicious vegetarian Bengali food. We would love to go back for a longer stay some time in the future.
We highly recommend the place!
We had a very good time and were taken very well care of. Nandu helped us to retrieve our lost luggage, which Quatar Airways had left behind. We had very nice coffee in the mornings and some good omlets. Arriving in the very early morning hours around 4:00 was no problem. The location on Sara Bose is well known and a walk to Kali temple or Victoria Memorial is ca. 20 or 30 minutes. The metro is also close by and takes one to the main places in town. We may come back if time allows us to enjoy this lovely spot and people once more.
This house is located right in the heart of the city. It's a heritage building and is probably 100+ years old. Amrit is an excellent host and he even took extra effort to drive us to another one of his locations and arrange for a home cooked Bengali dinner. The house itself consists of one huge room with an attached kitchen and bathroom. All the fixture in this house are really old and it gives you a vintage experience. Next time we visit Calcutta, we will definitely stay here again!!
While the studio apartment is right in the central of Kolkata in a very convenient location but it is very quite and peaceful as soon as you step into the premises. The apartment is a massive room with a large and comfortable bed. The kitchen is well stocked and the bathroom has all the required facilities. All in all a very pleasant stay.
After two weeks of roughing it in Bangladesh, we were looking forward to a comfortable 4-night stay at RedBrick Shakespeare 2 to recuperate and that's exactly what it was -- comfortable. The apartment is spacious, clean, nicely furnished, and well located within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. It has TV, strong WiFi, a very comfortable bed, a fridge, 2 burner stove, kitchen utensils and dishes, and lots of hot water. Amrit, who lives in the same building, was very responsive in answering our e-mail enquires beforehand. Although, we met him in person only once, he does have a very friendly full-time caretaker on the property who took care of anything that we needed. In summary, this is one the most comfortable Airbnb apartments that we have stayed in anywhere and we highly recommend it For the price, we think it represents amazing value for Kolkata.
Amrit's place was perfect for what we needed in Calcutta.
Comfortable lodgings in a not-too-busy area, in a magnificent building.
Amrit and his lovely porter were extremely helpful and accommodating.
We would definitely stay here again when we next visit.
Amrit and his lovely wife Dinaz are two kind hearted and fun people. I have had the pleasure of staying at their accommodation and their company, and can only state it was a very nice and inspiring experience. Please feel free to contact me for any reference.
In short, take a chance on Amrit, you will not be disappointed :-)
