If you want to explore the city, that's the place to be!
The situation is really great. It's really easy to get there by subway and walk around in all the neighborhood.
The apartment is nice, as it is described. We were two staying at this place and it was fine. The only little complain is that the apartment could have been a bit cleaner but it was ok.
James is a really nice guy! We didn't see him much but he was always available if necessary.
Great airbnb stay! J was helpful with anything that we asked, and was more than willing to share any tips on NYC if needed. The location was fantastic (really...it can't be beat) and his place was perfect for the duration of the trip.
My stay at J's was great. This location is amazing. You're right off NYU, wedged between Greenwich Village, Soho, and East Village. Almost everything I wanted to do and see was within walking distance. J was a great host and very easy going. The bed was super comfortable after a long day exploring the city. I read some complaints about the bathroom being small....I'm 6'5", 225 lbs and it worked for me. I have zero complaints about my stay and I would most definitely stay again.
The description was accurate, and the apartment was exactly what is to be expected. My only note on James regarding host experience is he's a busy guy, I think school / work / plus a lot of other projects, so he can be hard to get a hold of at times. This wasn't an issue for me specifically, but if you're the type of person who wants/needs to be in constant contact with your host this may pose some potential problems for you. I saw James briefly during check in and that was all. Super nice guy! Other than that, the location is prime. You're in the heart of Greenwich Village & SoHo so everything is at your disposal. The apt itself is clean, equipped with everything you need, and carries a nice breeze into the room which was nice to wake up to everyday. Highly recommend staying here for a quaint stay in NYC!
-AMAZING location, literally a stone's throw away from Soho and a ton of good cafes, restaurants, shopping.
-Clean, amenable and exactly as advertised, we were not disappointed at all.
-James was incredibly speedy in responding, pre arrival as well as during our stay in NYC. He's an awesome person!
-Would highly recommend this. Loved our 3 night stay here
The location was perfect for our 4 days NY experience!we loved staying at James house, he was very nice and the room was clean. Thanks a lot!see you next time
Central Greenwich Village was awesome and James keeps an awesome spot for visitors. An eclectic apartment, where you feel like you actually live in NYC. When I go back, it will be hard not to stay there again!
A localização do apartamento é fantástica! Perto do metrô, próximo dos melhores restaurantes e bares, super seguro e com movimento mesmo tarde da noite! Da pra ter o gostinho de se sentir um nova-iorquino! Fica bem no centro de tudo, inexplicável! Me hospedaria novamente no bairro!
Good place in a great neighborhood. James sent me all the necessary information before arrival and was a helpful host during my stay. Good bed, clean apartment. Recommended.
HOST: James was super friendly and welcoming. We didn't run into him often, so there was no conflict in terms of sharing the bathroom.
LOCATION: Greenwich Village. Very central. A nearby subway station that got us to where we needed to go. Didn't explore too much of Greenwich Village as so much other nearby neighborhoods.
BUILDING: Apartment is on the 5th floor; so be prepared to hike up some stairs--totally doable though. Secure entry. Quiet.
UNIT: 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, kitchen, communal space. Admittedly small as advertised, but sufficient. We didn't use anything beyond the fan in terms of controlling the temperature, but we did notice there was an air conditioning and/or heating unit.
BEDROOM: There isn't an actual door with a knob or anything. I would describe it as 2 wooden panels that stay closed with magnets atop. And lockable with a hook and eye lock. The bed is full-sized; the bedding we were provided with included 2 accent pillows, 2 pillows, a sheet, and a duvet. There weren't any pillowcases nor a duvet cover as shown in the pictures. And I slept toward the wall and woke up each morning with new itchy spots/bites on my left arm--not sure if that was a result of the bedding/dust, but just putting it out there. Comfortable mattress, though. There's a mirror on the side and an IKEA lamp which helps with the natural lack of lighting in the room.
KITCHEN: Not quite as organized as the pictures. But it looked like it was clean. We didn't use the kitchen really, but James mentioned we could if we had wanted to.
BATHROOM: Small but clean. Bathtub shower with a shower curtain. James provided us with towels, and we used the hangers in the room to hang them to dry.
OVERALL: We obviously weren't expecting hotel-quality accommodations, but I think we just had different expectations. Nonetheless, James was a great host; his listing wasn't inaccurate; and overall it was sufficient for the bare necessities.
My Partner and I absolutely loved staying with James in his apartment in Greenwich Village. He was very welcoming and was extremely helpful with directions, nightspots, things to do, getting to and from places on the Subway and just general information! The apartment was spotlessly clean the entire time we were there, and we were more than happy to clean up after ourselves in return for use of the kitchen and bathroom. The apartment is SO central and has amazing bars and cafe's as soon as you get out the door. James provided lovely clean linen and towels for our stay, and was very helpful with our luggage when we arrived. He is a great guy who loves to have a chat, and was more than happy to listen to us chat about our home in Australia. His apartment is the perfect place for your New York City holiday!
