I have a Masters in Linguistics/ESL and teach Spanish at Onondaga Community College. My husband and I enjoy turning our lawn into vegetable and fruit gardens. We are the guitarist and singer in the only full flamenco troupe in all of upstate New York - Puente Flamenco. ¡Se habla español! We also have a food blog - Chus On Chow - and a website called Walkable Eastwood, all about our neighborhood. We've lived in Syracuse a long time and can probably help you find just about anything here.
We enjoy traveling to the great cities that surround us - Montreal, Boston, New York, Philadelphia and so on - but we also love the back roads and historic villages throughout the northeast. We love to take leisurely bike rides along the Old Erie Canal - it's all level! I enjoy reading about food and local history, while Dave, a certified personal trainer, enjoys learning more about functional training. He also enjoys reading mysteries, The Economist, and the Culinary Institute of America's "Mise En Place" which should be going to our son, who graduated from there.
Top quality food is important to us. We grow all our vegetables, buy grass-fed beef from a local farmer and try to find great restaurants everywhere we go. Great coffee is a must, too. I make our own coffee in a vintage 1934 glass vacuum coffee pot with freshly ground coffee beans.
As hosts we want to be accommodating while respecting your need for privacy.
