I live in the Bay Area, CA. I work in sculpture and love my garden, enjoy biking, hiking. I also love theater, opera, museums, art, and really enjoy sharing our beautiful home in Tahoe with our friends and guests.

Rachel was a lovely host and very communicative leading up to our stay. They house was wonderful and had everything we needed. We were 8 adults spending thanksgiving here and the kitchen was fully stocked! The location was great, super close to Lake Tahoe. We would definitely stay here again and anyone thinking of renting this place should do it!
What a wonderful weekend! The home was wonderful and exactly as described. I strongly recommend the hike to the waterfalls. Love love love this home location.
Rachel is really nice, communicative, helpful and quick to reply. We had a really great stay at the house and it had all that we needed. We would totally go there again. Thanks for a great stay.
The cabin is in a nice quiet area, convenient to nearby trails, South Lake Tahoe and Alpine County. The kitchen and rooms were comfortable, extra clean, and the deck is made for outdoor dining. Rachel is easy to work with and answered all my questions. Highly recommended!
I would recommend Red Dog Cabin to anyone without giving it a second thought. The place is even better than advertised. Rachel is a wonderful person to deal with - very helpful and very clear with instructions.
The cabin itself is very nice. The rooms are spacious and the hot-tub is very clean and modern. The house is secluded so your group can enjoy some privacy. The location is very convenient - there is a store nearby and it is within a few miles of the lake.
All in all, we had a wonderful experience and hope that we can go back to the cabin someday.
Red Dog Cabin and its host, Rachel, were both wonderful! The cabin was spacious, tastefully decorated, and chocked-full amenities (sound tower, dvd player, kitchen appliances, etc.). Directions for getting there and getting set up were as easy and intuitive as an iPad (all the more remarkable given that it was my first time using AirBnB).
My family flew out from the East Coast in search of fresh mountain air and Sierra-style relaxation on a Friday. By Saturday night we were all kicking back in hot tub surrounded in pines. There was plenty of access to hiking (about 20 minutes to a secluded waterfall) and conveniences, like grocery stores and restaurants if you need em.
Rachel was responsive in all our correspondence leading up to our stay and was super nice and helpful throughout the process. I recommend Red Dog without reservations, so make sure to make yours. This one's a gem.
Rachel and her cabin were both amazing! She was very communicative throughout the entire process and was always ready to help when needed. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and contained everything we could possibly want or need for the weekend. The hot tub/deck was my favorite part of the entire house! My friends and I spent most of our time in the hot tub relaxing and marveling at the gorgeous mountains in the background. I definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a wonderful, relaxing and beautiful weekend in Tahoe!
I stayed with my family (two small children and a dog) and another family at Rachel's beautiful Red Dog Cabin for a week. We found it clean and complete with all amenities. The deck was a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors and the hot tub was sparkling clean. We especially loved the aspens whispering in the wind. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were gorgeous. We were able to walk up the road and visit the river (and see a beaver!), which my children loved, and although the cabin is in a wonderfully secluded area, it is only a short drive into South Lake. Rachel is extremely responsive and easy to work with. We feel we have found a gem, and will definitely stay at Red Dog Cabin again!
Rachel's cabin is absolutely amazing and it's in a beautiful location in South Lake Tahoe! It's large and spacious with a wonderful kitchen, living room and patio with a hot tub. My friends and I had a great time and felt at home!
Rachel's descriptions of Red Dog Cabin are accurate. We comfortably stayed here as a group of seven (three of whom were kids). Hot tub was a favorite activity for the kids. Kitchen was very well stocked; made me feel like I was cooking in my own kitchen. We were very glad to be able to extend our stay by an extra day...
We enjoyed hosting Rachel and Linard very much - they were great guests! We hope to visit them soon in Lake Tahoe! All the best
the location is great: quiet and away from the hustle and bustle, with immediate access to trails; the house is very spacious and with all amenities in excellent condition -- I had a wonderful time there.
Every time I visit the cabin I leave feeling very relaxed. It is spacious, in wonderful condition, and nestled peacefully in the woods. Sustenance is also nearby in the form of some good local restaurants/bars and a grocery store. The hottub was a excellent addition, too!
Every year, I plan a trip to Tahoe, and part of the pleasure of going is staying in this awesome house. Whether you ski or not, this house provides a welcome retreat. My friends and I use it as a place to relax, commune, cook good meals, go snow-shoeing, and hit the slopes! My winter wouldn't be the same without a trip to Red Dog Cabin!
