Lance prepared the place more than I anticipated, it was great! The description of the place and photographs are an excellent guideline, and the neighborhood has a great location!
Lance was a great host very helpful ,the apartment is very cool though I think the noise from the street below is underestimated, it is non stop 24 hours and at one point I was looking forward to getting back to the relative peace of London! ,triple glazing the windows would (website hidden) would adding some basic cooking facilities to give the option to have food in the apartment. Great location though .
Kenny and his friend were great guests. I missed the chance to review them but would love to have them back. Thanks for the tips on the windows!
Great LES loft in perfect location.
Yes it's noisy (per previous reviews), it's supposed to be, it's NYC!
Good facilities & ultra comfy bed.
Lacking a kitchenette, but surrounded by great cafes & restaurants, so not a big issue.
Lance is a great host, friendly & happy to recommend local sights, restaurants, etc.
Would highly recommend staying with Lance. We will be visiting again.
We stayed 4 days. Location is excellent. The studio is beautiful, it has really big windows on two walls, it is really a large space. We did not suffer from the lack of kitchen or from the noise outside (you should wear ear plugs while sleeping). The views are outstanding.
Lance was here to welcome us though we were kind of late. He made sure we felt comfortable and answered all our questions.
We did not see him while leaving the flat but received a thank you SMS when we were at the airport.
This is a good place to stay.
Very good experience. Quite clean and well equipped. Its a huge single room, very bright and spacious.
Lance's loft is really giving you the NY feeling. It looks in reality exactly like on the pics. Yes, it's loud, but Lance provides ear plugs.
The location is great, everything is within reach.
Lance's space was beautiful, just like you see in his photos. Check in/check out was easy and Lance was a delight to deal with, especially with his quick replies which were most appreciated. Would book this place again in a heartbeat!
We spent two weeks in Lance's studio. We liked the loft, the very special atmosphere in this very vivid Chinatown neighborhood. We have been aware before we arrived that there is no kitchen, just a refrigarator and a water boiler, so it was no problem for us, that we could only make coffee for breakfast in the morning.
We felt safe in the studio and often came home late at night without feeling uncomfortable.
The only thing that caught us a little bit off guard was the noise: Although we have been prepared by Lance's information and also the feedbacks on that point, we just couldn't imagine the extent of the noise level in the studio. Having lived on Broadway before (for alomst one year) we figured we know what "New York noise" means. But due to the very poor isolation of the windows and the really heavy traffic on the crossroad just in front of the building (day and night) it was absolutely impossible to sleep without earplugs. So we would not recommend the studio to anyone who is sensitive to noise and even for persons like us, who in general are quite tolerant to background noise, we would only for a short stay choose it again .
Check in as well as check out have been very uncomlicated and friendly. Lance was next door and offered his assistance if needed. We didn't see him often due to the fact that we were busy out in the city most of the time until late at night .
What an incredible experience! Absolutely loved the massive studio, its endless bright windows, wonderful location, and great selection of art and comic books! It didn't bother me, but know that the windows don't block out much noise, so the sounds of the city will be part of your experience. Also know that it's a 4th floor walk-up, in case that's an issue. Lance is really a prince -- he went above and beyond. Apart from being ever-available and accommodating, there was an unusual experience where the prior guests hadn't left on time and were unreachable. He couldn't have handled it better, being respectful to both parties, and offering us a discount. Next time I'm on the city, this place will be at the top of the list!
Had a great time - Lance's place is in a great location walkable to Chinatown, little Italy and so much more. Everything went according to plan with check in and check out. Lance was gracious enough to provide water, tea and a few essential amenities you need when you first arrive. It is a noisy location as noted in Lance's description but it is NYC and he's also kind enough to provide ear plugs. Hope to stay there again soon.
