I'm an improviser from Austin, TX.
I had a most excellent time at Shannon & his family's very-large-for-me-as-a-single-person ranch style home. I took away one star only because the hot tub out back wasn't set-up and I would have liked to have used it. I should probably add that star right back because of the amazing sound of bird song I enjoyed on the day or two I managed to wake up early enough to stroll around the neighborhood around 8 or 9am. Really it was amazing. The best feature may be the neighborhood full of ranch houses that seem to house an eclectic range of people -- one would be all done up with new architectural touches, the next would house some guy who had an artisanal coffee shop / taco truck out front. Keep Austin Weird indeed!
My main regret was that I didn't get to hang out there more, because I was in town for SXSW, a music conference that kept me downtown from afternoon until late at night. It was a joy to have their house to return to each night, an antidote to the insanity of downtown during the festival.
So basically, 5 star unless you're addicted to hot tubs. :)
I hope that a stay at their place might become an annual SXSW tradition.
Shannon was a great guest and I highly recommend anyone thinking of renting to him to do so.
