Chuck was a wonderful host. His apartment is clean and completely convenient. We walked to Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The view is great and we enjoyed it from the balcony with our breakfast. The water pressure in the shower is fabulous! Thanks again, Chuck! We look forward to staying with you again someday.

The location was excellent. About 2 blocks from Cannery Row area, and so close to the Aquarium as well. We were able to walk everywhere we went. The view from the patio was also lovely and relaxing.
The view is great and the location in Monterey as well (walking distance to most sights). The appartement has everything you need. It looks like shown on the pictures, so its obviously not luxurious but a little bit "time worn". Overall experience: okay.
Chuck's place was very conveniently located near Cannery Row. We were provided with fresh linens, supplies for breakfast, and a clean apartment. The balcony was lovely to pass time on. Chuck was very responsive in our time leading up to our stay, and the WIFI worked great.
I will agree with other reviews in saying that though the apartment was not luxurious, it was accurately represented in pictures. The apartment is really big and the air mattress Chuck provides is comfortable. For the price per night, I would expect the furniture to be upgraded, but all in all that did not outweigh a great weekend in a great apartment.
I had another great weekend at monterey for the car week. Staying at Chuck's unit instead of a hotel definitely contributed to the enjoyment of the weekend. The place has a great location and is comfortable. Included towels, shampoo, and had a kitchen which definitely came in handy heating up some leftovers we had. I also enjoyed the deck which had a great view of the ocean. Checking in and out could not have been easier and the flexible times were much appreciated. Overall, I had a very good experience with Chuck's unit and it met my expectations.
It was a joy staying at Chuck's apartment. This art-deco-like apartment is cosy and comfortable, though we wouldn't apply the word "luxurious" to it. We liked the fact that there were fresh organic fruits, waffle mix and a waffle maker awaiting us. It was a very welcoming gift.
There is a nice balcony with what would be a fantastic view of the coast but unfortunately for us, it was shrouded with fog for the duration of our stay. It was very helpful to have up-to-date pamphlets and guidebooks of the area provided in the flat.
Lisa (Chuck's helper), was welcoming and friendly and available to assist us and answer our questions whenever we needed further information like the password for the wifi.
The apartment is situated a mere 10min walk from the nearest supermarket (Nob Hill) and there are several smaller grocers nearby. It is also walking distance from major attractions such as the Monterey Aquarium and Canary Row.
Considering all this, the apartment was very reasonably priced and we would definitely stay here again.
This was a nice apartment with a great location a few blocks away from the ocean near Cannery Lane. Lisa made check-in very easy and was excellent to communicate with. Parking was easy and very close. It was nice having a waffle iron! There was a fully equipped kitchen with a full sized fridge and freezer and there is a full size grocery store within walking distance. Of note, there is no television in the apartment but wifi was easy and a great signal.
If you are interested in hanging out on Cannery Row and going to the Aquarium this place is in a great location (10 min walk max). I will mention that although the posting describes the apartment as luxurious and describes the place pretty eloquently, I wouldn't agree with "luxurious" as it is an older apartment with basic, no frills necessities. That being said, the pictures are 100% representative of the apartment so you can come to your own conclusion as to how luxurious it is. Lisa managed the check-in process and was flexible even after our arrival time changed the day of. The posting mentions that breakfast would be provided (at the time I booked - homemade Belgium waffles and fresh fruits of season). If that matters to you, make sure to confirm ahead of time what will actually be available. The parking space that is included was great to have but it seemed as if street parking wouldn't have been a big deal if you need more than one space.
