We just spent the last 4 nights/5 days exploring Portland and staying in Kyle and Elle's fantastic loft in the middle of a great neighborhood. The loft/suite looks exactly as it does in the photos and had everything we wanted or needed for our stay.
Kyle and Elle were great, and provided anything we needed, including delicious teas. There were tons of guides and books on what to do around Portland, and they had suggestions when asked. We were out most of the time, so didn't get to interact with them much, but they were lovely, and their daughter is adorable.
The location was great for us. The Southeast has a more laid-back, neighborhood vibe and we loved walking to restaurants like we do in NYC. Kyle gave us some bikes on our first day there, and we biked to the west side of Portland and spent some time there. While it's cute, we definitely preferred the east side, and esp. the neighborhood we were in.
We are back in snowy NYC and wishing we were back in Portland, and back in the loft. Thank you, Kyle and Elle, for such an amazing stay. We hope to be back soon!
We had a great experience staying in this sweet cozy loft. We were greeted by Elle and she showed us around. We loved that we were so close to our daughter's place and within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, coffee and tea-houses etc. We were there when it was chilly but we stayed warm with the great heating system. The shower supplied hot water quickly and powerfully which my husband loved. We had been a little hesitant about walking through someone's house to get up to the loft but Elle and Kyle made us feel so comfortable, we felt like it was home. We definitely had our privacy and there was a door that closed at the stairs leading up to the loft. We slept great in the queen bed! I loved that I had room to spread out my yoga mat and practice. The chair by the window also provided a cozy spot to hang out and read or work on the computer. Let me end this review by saying I would definitely stay there again! Thanks!
Kyle, Elle and Peloma were very welcoming hosts in their unique and beautiful home. The loft was spacious, warm (we arrived when temperatures dropped to freezing at night), modern and clean. The thoughtful additions were highly appreciated. Such as a small refrigerator, tea, coffee (whole beans, grinder and french press!), wine, and newly washed linens. The brief conversations we had were comfortable and pleasant. Mike and I were out most of the time discovering different pockets of wilderness in Oregon and Washington, but we always looked forward to returning to the loft to wind down and have an awesome night's rest. Thank you, K, E and P!
My wife and I were visiting Portland to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations than those provided by Kyle and Elle. They were kind and welcoming and their home makes a great base for exploring Portland. The place is spacious, with plenty of storage. Since it's the entire second floor of the house, it really feels like its own apartment and not at all like a shared living arrangement.
We really appreciated the local tea and coffee provided in the room. There were plenty of guidebooks and magazines that offered a nice overview of Portland's wonderful restaurants, breweries, and markets.
The neighborhood is great, too. It's just around the corner from tons of great bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. Be sure to check out Pok Pok for some amazing Thai food during your stay.
This is a great space and we recommend that anyone visiting Portland put it at the top of their list.
The neighborhood is quiet and nice, but near dozens of great restaurants, the LeMire's were welcoming and nice.
Kyle and Elle were very nice and welcoming. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean and full of thoughtful touches (coffee and tea station, Portland magazines/books for reference, computer, etc). The bed was tremendously comfortable. You do have to walk through Kyle and Elle's house to get to the room which may bother some people, but once you're in, it's as private as a separate apartment. I would absolutely recommend their place to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in Portland as an alternative to a stuffy hotel.
Kyle and Elle were great hosts. The room was very comfortable with nice touches like great coffee, and air conditioning (which was very important since it was hot when I was there). They helped me out with neighborhood tips, calling taxis, and even lent me a bike one day. I would definitely recommend this spot to others.
Great Location in SE Portland. The loft is beautiful and just as it is pictured. Many thoughtful details to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you for a delightful stay.
This space is listed as a "private room" but it feels very much like the guests' own apartment, as much as possible. The separate bathroom really helps with that. And even though there's no cooking area, it is very easy to have a little breakfast of coffee/tea and hot/cold cereal and fruit before starting your daily adventure. We were interested in dining out in Portland, so we didn't mind taking a break from cooking anyway. The neighborhood really is in a fantastic location. Steps from the bnb there are plenty of foodie spots for quality coffee, beer/wine/cocktails, meals, and dessert. Otherwise, the public transportation system is fantastic. We liked getting to know the city by using the "Walk There" book that was laid out when we arrived.
Based on the listing photos, we were initially worried that the room would feel short or cramped but it feels quite roomy, even for someone who is 6'1. We liked that we had plenty of shelf space and storage--it helped us get settled out of our suitcases. Our visit was in August and the air conditioner worked very well.
Elle and Kyle made us feel like the space was our own. They gave us privacy but were attentive when we had questions. They were just very warm and friendly.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at Kyle and Elle's master loft! The location was great and the private loft was very comfortable. I only met Elle, but she was very sweet, responsive, and accommodating to our schedule. I would highly suggest their master loft for your stay in Portland!
Kyle and Elle were delightful guests. They were very quick to respond to email and text. Although I never met them, my roommate said they were clean, quiet, and courteous. They are welcome back anytime.
Kyle was working in Los Angeles and Hosted a room for one of his Employees, as they were working on a film down here. Kyle was very communicative as was his guest. He,was working 12 hours a day with Kyle. Really nice guys!
Elle stayed one night with us while on a long distance trip down the coast. She was thoroughly pleasant and was content to quietly relax after a day of driving. We convinced her to stay for breakfast and are glad she did as we had fun conversing about Portland and other various topics.
Kyle and Elle were lovely couple. Nice, polite, and they were very considerate. I will be happy to host them again. Thank you. Rahima. Please check my awesome listings 5 blocks from Central Park!
Kyle and Elle are delightful guests! They politely listened to details about the Permaculture garden design. Though they were often gone and very quiet, our few moments of interaction were filled with warm discussions about shared interests.
