Ruth's place is fantastic! She was also extremely helpful in giving us information about arriving in DF and delicious places to eat in Condesa. I would definitely stay there again!
Response from Ruth:
We enjoyed out stay in Ruth's loft tremendously. It's big, bright, airy, with wonderful views, a gourmet kitchen, and a beautiful and comfortable neighborhood. Ruth was traveling while we were there, but was easily available and responsive via email. We wished we could have stayed longer, and will definitely contact Ruth to try to rent this space again if (when) we return to the D.F.
Response from Ruth:
Thank you Neil!
Stayed at Ruth's place for a weekend and loved it! The apartment has a real cool vibe with a lot of character overlooking a beautiful park. The bedrooms, living room, and bathroom were all spacious and clean. The location is safe and being right in the middle of Condesa was a big plus. Ruth was a very gracious and accommodating host-- she even provided us with some snacks! She knows her way around the city and can provide lots of tips. (As a bonus, she is a gourmet cook.) All in all, a very good stay-- we will definitely book here again the next time we come down.
Response from Ruth:
Thanks Daniel! Hope to see you here again.
Ruth was exemplary in her ways of communicating with us (new to Airbnb). The description of the apartment as well as the pictures made full comprehension in advance of the premises and it really is a hip and sophisticated area in Mexico City were we felt very safe. Ruth had left tons of information on Mexico City etc. and we made good use of these guide books The right neigbourhood for good food experiences as well as boutiques and shopping - and not too far from everything else to experience in this mega-city. Great view from the apartment overlooking Parque Mexico. And in-house concierge to open the door day-time! Don't miss the food markets (tostados) and Tout Chocolates not far from the apartment. OK , one thing - we could have preferred just a little larger beds.
We felt at home the minute we arrived. Though La Condesa is a great neighborhood, what mattered most to us was a comfortable place to spend time together as a family - listening to music, chatting, reading, and cooking. Ruth's lovely home was the perfect choice. The views are incredible, and we enjoyed being close to parks where we could take long walks and stop for coffee at one of the many cafes. Ruth checked in with us via email during our stay, and the porter and his wife were always available for any questions. We look forward to returning one day!
Ubicación inmejorable en la Condesa. Un departamento amplio, con todos los servicios, y muy muy lindo. Hemos estado de maravilla y el trato con Ruth ha sido muy fácil.
Response from Ruth:
Gracias Ida, espero que siga asi!
Ruth's apartment in La Condesa was a wonderful place to stay for our visit to Mexico City. The neighborhood is charming, convenient, and safe. Ruth was a great host with plenty of suggestions for our visit, especially when it came to food. She communicates thoroughly and quickly, and helped us arrange for rides to and from the airport, as well as an excursion to Teotihuacan. Recommended.
Ruth's apartment is spacious, clean and feels like home - because it is one! Location is perfect in the heart of Condesa close to parks, cool restaurants, and shops. The doorman takes good care of you as well - had no problems and would stay there again!
Ruth’s apartment is spacious and comfortable. We arrived very late and Ruth was leaving town the next morning. Nevertheless, she was able to give us a lot of advice and leave a lot of information. She gave us backup contacts and we knew we had great resources should we need further help.
The location in Colonial Condesa was fun. Tree lined streets with many interesting restaurants, shops, etc. I would highly recommend Ruth’s apartment.
I rented out Rurth's apt and I couldn't be more happier with it. It is a beautiful apartment. It's a big apt, clean, and beautifully decorated. My girlfriend and I took our moms and they couldn't be more happy with the apt. The surrounding area is full of cafe's and restaurants. There were 2 parks within walking distance and of course there were the little taco stands :). We had a great time in Mexico City.
Ruth was very respectful of my unit and I would rent to her again.
Response from Ruth:
We enjoyed hosting Ruth and her guest. They were very respectful of the property and the house rules.
We have no complaints and appreciate their communicating any needs.
We would love to host them again.
Ruth was a wonderful guest and looked after the apartment as if it was her own home. I am so glad she enjoyed herself so much despite the rain. She is welcome to return any time.
A wonderful gem in Condesa! This apartment is a wonderful cozy home filled with folk art, culinary artifacts and beautiful furnishings. There are wonderful views of the city from several rooms. The space is sumptuous and well appointed. Location is ideal in Condesa, a great neighborhood with tree lined streets, cafes, restaurants and wonderful shops all around. Mass transit is close by and the apartment and street are quiet. This is a charming urban oasis. Don't miss out on this gem!
Ruth’s open and bright penthouse in the Condesa neighborhood is what you might expect for a woman who was proclaimed the “food lover’s guardian angel” on National Public Radio (USA). Her bright and flowing apartment contains an ample, well-equipped kitchen with a huge window and walk-in pantry. In the spacious dining area, Ruth produces lavish spreads of food on an expansive table that often accommodates large, chatty and multi-national parties. The apartment is a testament to Ruth’s culinary and cultural stripes. It brims with Mexican folklore, art and collectibles. Ruth loves to show guests the stunning view from her eighth floor balcony. The lush greenery of Parque Mexíco lies at your feet. Listen closely and you can almost hear the faint laughter of children playing or dogs frolicking in the park’s water features. On the horizon to the left you see the shiny towers of modern Santa Fe and to the right the glory of historic Paseo de la Reforma. Centuries of Mexican history literally appear before your eyes. Two seating areas, one roomy, the other cozy, adjoin the dining space. But the pièce de résistance at Casa Alegria is the ambience. Step into the airy apartment and Ruth immediately puts you at ease, as if you had found your own secret sanctuary in the teeming mass of Mexico City. When you are in Ruth’s house, you truly are in your house.
Ruth and I know one another through an international professional culinary organization to which we both belong (IACP) and have known one another for approximately 10 years. Ruth is by nature a warm and genuine individual who would go to great lengths to be an ideal Airbnb host. Ruth and I have been together at conferences and she has also stayed in my home. She is the ultimate guest..thoughtful, considerate, and helpful as well as a pleasure to be with. We have done many social things together when at meetings in different cities and always am impressed by her positive nature, great communication skills, her energetic, thoughtful and savy personality. She would be an ideal host for an Airbnb guest with her extensive background in hospitality and culinary arts.
I've known Ruth (who happens to be my neighbor) for at least 5 years; we have worked together on many culinary projects such as Slow Food events. She is bi-lingual, a great friend and hostess. Her apartment is fabulous, big and airy with amazing views. A great addition to Airbnb in Mexico City
