Bernhard has become a good friend while staying here several months. We enjoyed Gent, the resto brasseries bars pubs cafés and other Foursquareplaces where you can eat or drink. We saw some awkward movies during Filmfest Gent. We (or I) did some serious tricks in the fitness. And he (or we) worked a lot. Writing papers and code until 4 am. It was (again) really great to have Bernhard around.
I noticed he knows the internet by heart, guiding me through the most funny videos on Youtube, the loveliest profiles on Facebook and best places to go out in Kopenhagen. What I certainly will do!
The final week was amazing! A free brunch as a 'Thank you', not only for me but also for the colleagues working here in the office. An amazing dinner in the Belfort Restaurant and an evening/night to remember in Gent (no more details :).
If you want a guest who will be your own private butler (repairing you bike, offering you tea or coffee as you like, cooking, playing music according to your mood, ...), be sure you have Bernhard at your place!
Thank you Airbnb, I've already met very nice people via this service. Butler Bernhard is an Airbnb-member who deserves some extra rewarding badges :)
It was very pleasant to host Bernhard. He is a respectful, responsible and independent guest. Communication was fluent and friendly.
Well, what can I say? Bernhard has been here already twice and it's always a moment where I enjoy the city of Ghent more than at other moments. Going out, chatting, working, enjoying life as it is, ...
I hope the model with agents walking around a city is working very soon, so he can focus on exciting new projects having him around in Ghent for more fun!
If it's not clear at this point: if Bernhard wants to stay at your place, don't hesitate!!
I had a very nice time with Bernhard as a guest! Although I was very busy for work, we visited a concert and got to know a lot of nice restaurants in Gent, some of them also new to me. Having Bernhard as a guest means you enjoy the place where you live more :)
Bernhard even surprised me with a bottle of Akvavit. The content of this bottle surely will surprise me later.
It was nice to see the evolution of the experiment Bernhard was developing here, hoping 'agents' would walk and take decisions in a computerized model of a city.
I really liked Bernhard's curiosity to experiencing Gent, not mainly as a tourist, but as an inhabitant cycling through the city and being part of the daily life, from supermarket to Mokabon, from museum to university, from culture to food (Volta was delicious!).
I would definitely recommend Bernhard as a guest.
