My partner Mary Jo and I are an easygoing couple who love to travel. We have a lovely large home in a country location that we think people would enjoy staying in!

We had a great time with Mary Jo and Philip! The house has old-world charm and modern comforts, like good water pressure, plenty of heat, and comfortable large beds. We were greeted with tea and coffee and the breakfast was delicious. Mary Jo and Philip were wonderful hosts, offering advice on where to go and even calling a local restaurant for us when we were looking for a place to eat dinner. The neighborhood is quiet and there are goats and cows nearby. All in all, a great place to enjoy some peace and quiet.
Philip and Mary Jo were outstanding! They were very engaged, involved, and very chatty! They made us feel at home immediately, and were an absolute delight to stay with. We would HIGHLY recommend anyone to stay with these two outstanding hosts.
Last but not least, breakfast was better than any 5 star restaurant!
We were greeted with warm hellos and and a warm cup of tea. It was the beginning of a perfect stay at the Antebellum Farmhouse. Our hosts were friendly and helpful in every way and made our stay very personal. We left knowing we will return soon. Breakfast was wonderful and kept us going for hours. Thank you Morrisseys!
We had a lovely, stress-free stay at Philip and Mary Jo's home. We we warmly greeted at check-in, and the accommodations were perfect. Large room with king bed, private bath, walk-in closet and TV. An historic farmhouse, the home was decorated beautifully. We were even welcomed by the goats in the field outside. Because we were visiting our daughter at James Madison University, we left in the early mornings and returned late at night. Our hosts were understanding of our schedule, and I am sure we would enjoy getting to know them better had time allowed. We'd certainly enjoy a return visit!
Phillip and Mary Jo were welcoming from the moment we walke in. They greeted us and showed us the room and gave us wonderful suggestions about what to do in the area. The room had everything we needed and the setting was a relaxing getaway. Breakfast was delicious and filling. We would certainly return.
We had a wonderful stay with Philip and Mary Jo. The room is beautiful and relaxing. We had no trouble finding the location, and when we arrived Philip greeted us and gave us a great recommendation for a near-by lunch spot. The farmhouse is really a lovely structure, with enormous porches. We enjoyed sipping a glass of wine on the porch and chatting with Philip and Mary Jo about the history of the house, the neighborhood, and their cute goats. I would definitely recommend this spot.
Our stay with Philip and Mary Jo was perfect. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel right at home in their exquisite house. The room was very spacious with a private bathroom and the bed was super comfy! I loved sleeping with the windows wide open, allowing the cool country air to circulate and hearing nothing but crickets. Philip is quite the chef in the kitchen, breakfast both mornings was outstanding. We also enjoyed roaming around the property and getting acquainted with the goats.
If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing get away in the country, I would highly recommend this listing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay With Mary Jo and Philip. As soon as we pulled up to their driveway past their pasture of grazing goats, we knew we were in for a special treat. The pre-Civil War built federal house was very charming, cozy and laden with a sense of American history. The company Mary Jo and Philip provided was warm and engaging, and Philip's culinary skills were splendid, to boot. Our room and bed was very cozy, and we received the best sleep we'd had in a while. Mary Jo and Philip welcomed our fifteen-month old daughter with open arms, and she enjoyed exploring around the house, marveling in her new environment. We highly recommend staying with Philip and Mary Jo, and we plan to return to this treasure in the near future.
Phil is an old friend of mine from university days. He taught me how to hitchhike, was a regular sparring partner on the squash court and in the bars and helped me to have a fine time way back in 1988! Haven't seen each other since then unfortunately, but if he hasn't changed then I'd definitely be happy to recommend him as a host.
