I'm afraid that Vita is the type of guest that you realise quite early on is going to be quite difficult to please. We knew this almost immediately when she did not seem at all receptive to what we were telling her about the area and the apartment. We generally really enjoy meeting our guests and like to find out at least a little bit about them, so that it's more like having a friend or at least an acquaintance stay rather than a complete stranger. This did not work with Vita and she seems particularly non-responsive to our tips and suggestions. She even frowned at the mention of a pumpkin that we left her for Halloween as she was traveling with children!
Again, we're not expecting to be friends but a little bit of basic friendliness wouldn't hurt.
We repeatedly told Vita and her husband that if there was anything at all, they could and SHOULD call us. Unfortunately they didn't, so there was nothing we could do to make their stay a more pleasant one (which is obviously our objective and something that is VERY important to us). The complaints she had (which were unreasonable: complaining that the house is old when it clearly says on the profile it is from 1800 does not seem reasonable, nor does complaining about the minimalist furnishings and the spare lighting when this is done for aesthetic reasons) she kept completely to herself for five days even though we repeatedly asked her to please contact us if there were any problems - and then surprised us with an angry review. Not an easy or communicative guest.
