Washington, DC professional, former journalist, co-founder of DC's Funk Parade, hoster of epic dinner parties. I am a DC native and father to one dog, Gus, a neurotic intellectual with a taste for Proust, long sighs, longer naps, and occasionally some Kleenex.
My general philosophy to travel is that one should do a bare minimum of planning, because the circumstantial experiences are always the most memorable. What's surprising is always a better story than the thing that pans out more or less as you predicted.
My philosophy of hosting is to make that possible for others: To make sure the little things are taken care of, so that guests can have a great time without worrying over details.
